This is a very good game (even just playing vs. the AI). Unfortunely, its very difficult to enjoy it because of its incredibly high rate of crashing. This app crashes on me about once every 5 matches, and even if it doesn't crash, it can get stuck with the message "AI Running" at the end of every round for over a minute, which adds up. The cherry on top though, is that if it crashes and I try to start a new game, it has a high chance to crash again! It really pushes me away from the game...

The majority of crashes we see are 'out of memory' scenarios. We use about 500M of memory. You can lower the memory requirement by using 'low graphics settings'.

I hate to rate this 3 stars. It's a favorite of mine and easily a 5 star game, but it seems the devs have abandoned ship. It's been over 3 years since the last app update, meanwhile Android updates have been breaking the app in various ways for over 2 years now. I really can't imagine the fix being that hard... Tweaking some config or updating their game framework. Really sucks they're letting this die. The app is all but unusable now. Several times over the years I've checked for updates, did Android system updates, hoping to play, only to find the app still broken. PLEASE can't you make the hitboxes a fixed aspect ratio or something?! The biggest issue seems to be that the images in the game have a fixed aspect ratio, which maximizes to the width of the device. But the layer with all of the hitboxes seems to be stretched to 100% by 100% of the device width/height. One case where this is a problem... Android decided to automatically hide the action bar for games. So the visuals and hitboxes used to all match up. Then Android hides the action bar. The visuals don't stretch, they stay the same size, the menu hides, and the visuals slides down a bit so they're centered without the menu. But the hitboxes layer is stretched so it extends a bit above and a bit below the non-stretched visible layer, making the hitbox layer line up terribly with the image, especially at the edges. If the hitbox layer just scaled the same way as the images, it would work fine. It may even work to just disable full screen mode in the app manifest... would be better than it not working on 80% of devices. I will update my review the devs ever fix this, or if I find a way to make the app work.

Important point: as of 4/12/2019, this game only works correctly on screens with 16:9 aspect ratio. if you have an 18:9 screen (like I do), key parts of the UI get cut off and some information is not accessible. i managed to test on a friend's 16:9 tablet and it worked fine. it seems like a decent-enough game, the secret action-selection mechanic is the main thing that makes this game different than others. But it doesn't have crazy combos, so it feels more chess-y than star realms or Dominion
