About this app

On Halloween night a witch-clockmaker's skeleton watch ticks in the dark. Through its open dial you see the whole movement: a smoked-gold base plate set with rubies, a gear spun like a spider's web, a pentagram wheel, a swinging balance, and blackened bridges shaped like a bat and a claw.

A real skeleton watch
- A silver chapter ring with Roman numerals and a full track of sixty minute marks.
- Blued Gothic hands with glowing lancet tips, and a centre seconds hand.
- The movement ticks: the balance swings and the gears step round, once a second.
- A power-reserve hand shows your battery, with the day and date in a window beneath it.
- Choose hands and numerals, hands only, or large engraved numerals on a silver plaque; the hour follows your watch's 12- or 24-hour setting.

Your information is on the subdials
Your steps are on the left silver subdial, your unread notifications on the right one, and your battery on the power reserve.

What moves
- Each minute the glow through the movement flickers and the minute hand jumps.
- On the hour the gears race, an eerie glow floods up through the movement, and bats burst out from behind the bat bridge.
- Tap the movement and a spider scuttles across it.
- On Halloween night, from 6 pm to 6 am, bats fly every quarter hour, and from midnight to one the movement glows blood-red and the gears run backwards.
- In always-on mode the watch goes dark with its numerals in dim grey; only the hands or the numerals, the date, your steps and your battery stay lit, to save power.

Make it yours
- Time: hands and numerals, hands only, or numerals only.
- Glow: witch green, candle gold, spirit blue or blood red.
- Moving movement: on by default; switch it off to save battery.
- Seconds hand: on by default.
- Spider on waking: a spider runs across the movement each time your watch wakes (off by default).
- Three complications: steps, unread notifications and battery by default. Choose other data for any of them in the watch face editor.
