Ratings and reviews

The app works and does it's intended job. Calls and text messages go through quickly, and it allows you to pick almost any area code. Which works out great if you don't want someone to know where you actually reside or if you don't want someone having your real phone number for one reason or another. The only down side I find are the freaking constant pop up ads, which can become really annoying after a while of using the FreeTone App...

Awesome app! Great quality and reliable 💯 No hidden fees, no nonsense. Highly recommend. EDIT: App now EXTREMELY ad intensive. And I mean ads that run long and you cannot even minimize them, you cannot close them, I have missed incoming phone calls because I couldn't answer my with the ads running. There are lots of other free phone apps without this issue.

It sort of works. I've been using it as my primary phone number for about 6 months. Calls echo pretty badly, notifications work sporadically, and texts are slow both ways. Edit: These greedy pieces of garbage have made it mandatory to pay rent for your number. Ads weren't enough apparently. Now I'm locked out of using my credit card and can't talk to anyone through text without paying. "Free"tone is not longer free at all. At least edit the name to say Greedtone.
