Having intolerance to gluten is frustrating enough. The Gluten Free Scanner works simply and fast, using your mobile phone camera to scan the barcodes already found on the products you buy.

We maintain up-to-date the largest database of food and drink products available in the US, to detect the presence of gluten. Over 500,000+ products and growing. A team of registered dietitians, nutritionists and researchers take care of the accuracy of our database.

Every scan will be analyzed on four levels, to provide greater information and protection. This enables you to make a more informed decision as to whether or not to try the product.

Edit: the issue came back even worse after update.Not worth paying for the upgraded version. I paid for the upgraded version a year ago and it rarely made a difference as far as identifying gluten free foods went. But oh well right? It's only a couple bucks. Well fast forward to about a month ago an my app all of a sudden won't work at all. It keeps telling me it doesn't have internet even when I am at home on my wifi. I've tried clearing the cache and data and nothing works. Super disappointed.

I don't know how this app has so many stars, I've scanned 30 items and it only found 2 in the database. The items I'm scanning are pretty common. The best part is it tells me to buy the upgraded version, why? So I can spend my money and still not know if something has gluten in it!? Stupid app, don't bother with this space waste app, you'll only be frustrated while you're shopping and if you have to be gluten free for health reasons shopping is probably already frustrating.

I have the paid version. It seems like a decent app so far, but it's missing a lot of common products (i.e. big brand potato bites). In addition, there appears to be no way to save information to a personal account. A personal account would be helpful so that you don't lose your favorites if something happens to your phone or the app on your device. *Also, please fix the history section because it isn't working at all right now.*
