stackers is a private offline-first precious metals portfolio tracker.

Track your gold and silver holdings securely with real-time price data (optional
API key can be utilized if preferred). All data stays on your device — nothing is uploaded to the cloud. Completely secure and completely private.

How to set up Stackers after installing

1. Open the app. On first launch, you will see the Guide screen explaining app features. Tap **Set up Options** to go to Settings.

2. Set your preferences in Settings (optional — defaults are fine to start):
- Theme: Dark or Light
- Currency: GBP (£), USD ($), or EUR (€)
- Weight Unit: Troy Ounce (oz) or Gram (g)
- Default Metal: Gold or Silver (determines which chart shows first on Home)

3. Choose your data source — you need either an API key (live prices) or manual prices (off-grid):

### Option A: API Key (Live Prices)
3a. Get a free API key at [goldapi.io](https://www.goldapi.io) (email registration, free tier).
3b. In Settings, paste the key into the **API Key** field and tap **Save API Key**.

### Option B: Off-Grid Mode (Manual Prices)
3c. In Settings, scroll to **Manual Prices**.
3d. Enter the current spot price and selling premium % for Gold and Silver. Tap **Submit Prices** (single button for both metals).
3e. Toggle **Off Grid Mode** ON.

4. Tap **Continue** at the bottom of Settings. The Guide screen appears — tap **Continue to App** to reach the Home screen with your price data.

5. Explore the tabs at the bottom of the screen:
- Home — Price banner, 12-month chart, your stack grid, total value
- Portfolio — Aggregated holdings, profit/loss, weight totals per metal
- Your Stack — All stack items, tap to edit
- Add-2-Stack — Add a new item (name, weight, cost, metal, photo)
- Account — Guide, Settings, PIN management, overwrite-price buttons

6. Add your first stack item:
- Tap the **Add-2-Stack** tab to add your own items
- Enter a name (e.g. "2024 Britannia")
- Enter weight and cost per unit (or total amount)
- Select metal (Gold / Silver)
- Take or choose an existing photo (optional)
- Tap **Add to Stack**

7. Set a PIN (optional):
- Go to **Account** tab → **Set PIN**
- Enter a 4-digit PIN and confirm
- On next launch, the app will require this PIN to unlock

8. You're done. Prices update automatically (API mode) or stay at your manual entries (off-grid mode). All data stays on your device.
