Short Idea Memo is a memo widget app that uses Markdown syntax to express text decoration with symbols. It lets you quickly jot down ideas that pop into your head during daily life or concise tasks.
Based on CommonMark, it applies custom rules that extend color expressions and underlining. You can also create checklists and tables, making it useful for shopping lists, task lists, and other planned notes. Text that doesn't fit within the widget scrolls to show more, and you can change the widget's background and text colors in settings.
Using the privacy feature automatically hides the widget's contents when your device is locked. Simply touch the widget to reveal it again. This simple feature prevents your notes from being seen by others, even if you need to display your smartphone's home screen in a crowded place.
The text editor includes a toolbar where you can apply Markdown formatting to selected text. It also supports multi-level undo/redo, making it easy to fix typos.
Edited text can be saved as an HTML file, viewable in nearly all browser apps.
It natively supports online storage services, OneDrive, Dropbox, and Box. With an account for any of these, you can back up your notes with a single tap. Of course, you can also download them, making it easy to share notes across multiple devices.
