About this app

tofa turns the media you already own into a streaming service that answers to you.

Run the tofa server on your own computer or NAS, point it at the folders your files already live in, and your library appears on your TV. Nothing moves, nothing gets renamed, and your folder structure stays exactly as you built it.

ON THE BIG SCREEN
Browse posters, seasons and episodes with your TV remote. Continue Watching picks up mid episode, on any device, because progress follows your account rather than living on one screen. Watch Next puts what you were watching on your home screen before you even open the app.

Playback is direct whenever your TV can decode the file as it sits, so nothing is re-encoded and nothing is lost. When a file needs help, your server converts it on the fly and quality adapts to the connection instead of stalling.

Subtitles behave. Text and image based tracks both render, forced tracks are honoured, and your language choice carries from one episode to the next.

AWAY FROM HOME
Remote streaming is included. Your TV reaches your server whether it is on the same network or on the other side of the country, with nothing to configure.

SHARED, WITHOUT SURPRISES
Give family their own accounts with their own watch state and their own view of the library. If you own the server, you get a live view of who is watching and how playback is holding up.

WHAT THIS APP IS NOT
tofa ships with no catalogue of its own. It plays your files, from your server. It is not a store, and there is nothing to subscribe to inside it.

You need a tofa server to use this app. Setting one up is free and takes a few minutes on a computer or NAS you already own.
