About this app

Important: this is a work in progress, please report all issues on the project's github repo: https://github.com/mimi89999/Authnkey/issues

This project provides a workaround that effectively brings CTAP2-style capabilities to NFC keys on Android by acting as a Passkey provider / Credential Manager service, handling the correct communication with your FIDO2 key or card over NFC.
Requires:
- Android 14+ (API 34)
- A FIDO2-compatible security key or card

Based on Authnkey project from Michel Le Bihan

Good. Not perfect. It works well for authenticating with passkeys that are already saved. It does not allow you to save new passkeys because it does not provide a way to enter the device PIN when creating new credentials. Still, it fills a very important need that Google has left unaddressed.

Creating new passkeys should work, can you provide more details in the GitHub issues section of the repo?

This app that shall be in android. There are no ads and it even works with feitian keys. The registration and auth flow are the missing things in android. Hats off for the dev.

Very easy to use and made my YubiKeys work great for everything over NFC. It would be nice to see Material You theming added.
