About this app

Earth, right now, on one map.
World Live lays the latest data published by public agencies and official sources over a dark world map as points of light. Just watching it tells you where things are happening on the planet.

WHAT IT SHOWS
- Earthquakes: the last 24 hours (U.S. Geological Survey). Large quakes ripple.
- Tsunami bulletins from the NOAA U.S. Tsunami Warning Centers
- Hurricanes and tropical storms in the Atlantic and eastern/central Pacific (NOAA National Hurricane Center)
- Volcanoes on raised alert in the United States (USGS)
- Aurora: the forecast, the Kp index, and a line showing where it may be visible tonight
- Wildfires: heat sources seen by satellites in the last 24 hours (NASA FIRMS)
- Where the news is: places mentioned most in the world's news, with the tone of the coverage and links to articles (GDELT)
- Rocket launches: the next 7 days with countdowns and links to official webcasts (The Space Devs)
- Satellites: the International Space Station and others, computed on your device from orbital data (Space-Track.org)
- Sun and Moon: the day/night line, the Moon's position and phase (computed on the device)
- Live cameras: Shibuya Crossing, Sakurajima and Aso, Kilauea, Monterey Bay Aquarium, a Namib Desert waterhole, Earth from the ISS and more, from the owners' official channels

RIGHT NOW
One tap sums up what is happening in a few lines: earthquakes in the last 24 hours and the largest, volcanoes on alert, tropical storms, the next launch, aurora activity, where wildfires cluster, where the news is, where the ISS is, and how many live cameras you can watch. Every line comes from the data on the map and opens its details.

AUTO TOUR
Tap AUTO and the camera flies from one highlight to the next: a large earthquake, a rocket about to lift off, the ISS followed along its orbit. Nothing is shown twice; when everything has been shown, the tour ends by itself. Touch the map to stop at any time.

TIME MACHINE
Tap LIVE to replay the same day one, five or ten years ago: earthquakes, launches, news and aurora.

TAP FOR DETAILS
Tap a light for its magnitude, time, place and what you can do next (articles, official pages, webcasts). Tap an empty spot for that place's day or night, sunrise and sunset, aurora chances and nearby events.

HOME SCREEN WIDGET AND REMINDERS
The next launch countdown, the largest recent earthquake and Kp on your home screen. Optional reminders before a launch.

PLEASE NOTE
Nothing in this app is an official warning or evacuation notice. Sources update at different intervals and may be delayed or incomplete. For decisions about your safety, follow your local authorities. Each source and its terms are listed in the app's settings. Live camera video plays in each channel's official embedded player; rights stay with their owners.

24-HOUR REPLAY
Replays the last 24 hours of earthquakes and more at high speed. Once a day as it is; after that, a short video ad unlocks another replay.

About the subscription
Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly). The yearly plan includes a one-week free trial for eligible users.
It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and is charged to your Google Play account.
Manage or cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions.
