About this app

Size your portable generator before the power goes out. Add the appliances you want to run, type in the running watts and starting watts from each nameplate, and see how the load builds up as every appliance starts.

Made for home backup power, camping and RV trips, and small job sites where a generator has to carry a fridge, a sump pump, lights and tools at the same time.

Key Features

- Appliance list: enter running watts, starting watts (surge) and quantity for each appliance. Reorder, duplicate or switch appliances on and off.
- Start order matters: compare starting one by one, starting everything at once, or your own custom start steps where appliances in the same step start together.
- Peak load found for you: each moment equals the watts already running plus the starting watts of what is starting now. The timeline marks the highest step.
- Safety margin: add an extra 0 to 100 percent, 20 percent by default, for the minimum starting capacity and the running capacity you need.
- Scenario comparison: duplicate a scenario, change one thing such as the order or the margin, and compare the results side by side.
- W and kW: switch the display unit any time. Your values are kept in watts.
- Saved plans: keep up to 20 plans on your device, copy a result as a text card or share it.
- No account needed. Plans stay on your device.

Good For

- Home backup power during outages
- Camping, RV and tailgating setups
- Small construction and workshop sites
- Checking which appliance to start first

Use the watts printed on each appliance nameplate. The example values in the app are only examples. Results are estimates from the numbers you enter. The app does not guarantee appliance power use, recommend generator models, calculate fuel run time or judge electrical safety.
