About this app

Turn your phone into a pocket magnetometer.

This magnetometer reads the built-in magnetic sensor and shows the surrounding magnetic field strength in microtesla (μT). See X, Y, Z axis values and the total field at a glance, with a live mini chart so you can spot changes the moment they happen.

★ Three modes in one app
• Measure — total field, per-axis values, live history graph
• Metal Detector — set a baseline, get a vibration alert when nearby metal shifts the field
• EMF — quick reading classified as Normal, Slightly High, or High based on the 25–65 μT Earth-field range

★ Useful for everyday checks
• Find nails, screws, rebar or hidden wires before drilling into a wall
• Test if a magnet, speaker, or motor is producing a strong field
• Compare appliances near your bed, desk, or workspace
• Verify if a "neodymium" magnet is actually strong
• Curiosity, school science, geomagnetism class

★ Designed to stay out of your way
• Clean Material 3 interface, light and dark theme
• 13 interface languages
• Measurement runs on-device
• No account required

★ Important to know before using
• Detects ferrous metals — iron, steel, nickel. Aluminum, copper, brass, gold typically do not register.
• A magnetic phone case (MagSafe, magnetic mounts, wallet rings) sits right next to the sensor and will skew readings. Remove the case for accurate measurement.
• Sensor accuracy varies by phone model.
• This app is a reference tool. It is not a replacement for professional EMF meters or stud-finders used for safety, medical, or industrial work.

If your phone does not have a magnetic sensor, the app will tell you on launch.

Try Magnetometer the next time you want to know what the magnetic field around you actually looks like.
