About this app

Your phone's microphone is high-quality and already beats most USB mics. Micstream turns it into a real input device for your PC, so Windows thinks it's a genuine hardware microphone.

How it works
1. Install the free desktop client from micstream.io
2. Connect the app over Wi-Fi or USB
3. Select Micstream as the microphone in any app
That's it - your phone is now your PC mic.

Why Micstream
• A real microphone: A custom Windows audio driver makes your phone appear as plugged-in hardware
• Studio-grade sound: 48 kHz / 32-bit audio
• USB for zero latency, or Wi-Fi with automatic PC discovery
• Stereo recording on supported phones
• Native C++ audio engine (Oboe) for performance
• Low-latency of around 10ms-25ms on flagship devices (depending on Wi-Fi)

Works everywhere you talk
Video calls, Discord, Zoom, Teams, OBS streaming, gaming, podcasts, voice-overs, dictation - anything that accepts a microphone input.

Supported systems
• Windows 10 and 11 (custom audio driver)

Pricing
Micstream is free: watch a short rewarded ad to earn streaming time. Micstream Pro removes all ads and time limits.

For the technically curious
• Audio is encoded with the Opus codec
• Networking runs UDP on ports 37718–37720
