I subscribed to an app for a week but was charged for a pack I didn’t want due to dark patterns during the signup process that forced me to add it. The interface was misleading, making it hard to avoid extra charges. When I tried to get a refund, I found their process intentionally complex, clearly designed to prevent people from getting their money back. Overall, a frustrating experience with deceptive practices.

Deceptive Billing – Avoid This App I signed up for Able Coach because they offered a low-cost 7-day trial. But as soon as I entered my card details, I was charged for a much more expensive subscription without clear notice or consent. When I contacted support to explain, they refused to refund me. This is deceptive and unethical. $78.50 is a lot where I live — it's not a small mistake. It means someone might not eat. If you're considering this app, beware of their bait-and-switch tactics.

Just be cautious when signing up. Throughout the whole process, you'll be given the impression tje the price is "x" but it'll only be a portion and you'll end up paying "y". Even emailed prior to say i was not going to use the application after paying a couple dollars and realising this was NOT the amount of the app yet they still took a considerable amount off my card. The "cancel" process was also arduous and they have a "no refunds" policy. "pay for use" is fine but be up front.
