Introducing MTB Fit - by MTB Fitness! From its launch back in 2015, tens of thousands of mountain bikers have improved their fitness on the mountain bike through MTB Fitness programmes and guides. Run by Matt Mooney, a keen mountain biker and personal trainer since 2010, MTB Fitness was created to help your everyday rider get fitter, faster and stronger on the bike so they can enjoy this awesome sport to the max.



The MTB Fit app is a huge leap forward in the MTB Fitness offering, helping you commit to improving your fitness on the bike in a seamless and exciting way.

The app includes :

- New MTB specific programmes every 2 weeks with in-app demo videos, quick glance exercise screenshots, rep/weight tracking & much more. You’ll have total flexibility; choose to train anything from one to six times a week & schedule your workouts using the in-app calendar.


- 2 levels of difficulty. Choose between beginner plans and advanced plans and switch between them at anytime. These make the app accessible to all fitness & strength levels and also allows you to ramp things up leading up to an event or riding holiday or scale things back to ‘maintenance’ through the hotter months.


- Train at home or in the gym (or in your home gym!) Both home & gym programmes are included and accessible at all times. Train at home with just a set of resistance bands & your bodyweight, or train in the gym/your home gym using free-weights.

- Ongoing programmes mean no rigid ’12 week schedule’ to stick to. Had a break for a week or two due to illness or injury? Jump straight back into your training with the up-to-date plans, meaning no feelings of guilt and no trying to ‘catch up’. This is just like Matt’s in-person personal training clients who train long term, rather than for a short period of time.


- An exclusive global community to hold you accountable. Members of MTB Fit receive access to an exclusive private Facebook group. Only current subscribers to MTB Fit have access to the group, meaning everyone can motivate and support each other while all following the current programmes together. (Note : this is totally separate to the public group on Facebook)


- Direct priority access to Matt through email or in the Facebook group to ask any questions & get expert support anytime you like.

- Sync the app with a host of other apps & devices such as Garmin, Fitbit, in-phone calendars, MyFitnessPal & Withings.


- Access to your own desktop hub is also included.

This is a great program! Matt has a very well tailored approach to keeping it challenging, fun (yes, I said fun), and engaging! Day 1 was a disaster as I was not prepared for the variation in things for a home workout. On day two, I had it sorted, and it was a smooth transition from stage to stage. This can be a life changer if you want it! I put it at 4 stars only because I would like to see a calorie intake option in the app, not using a third party for this!

I've never been a gym person, but I've been using this app for the last few months (doing the home plans), and I now get excited to do the strength training sessions each week. I was using the original mtb fitness plans before the app came out and didn't think it was going to be worth paying a monthly subscription - I was wrong! It's great having a new set of plans to do every 4 weeks. The training has improved my strength and is correcting muscle imbalances. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Nothing but good things to say about this app, really easy tonise and follow, helps plan your weekly schedule and hold yourself accountable for your training, and the support is unreal from Matt. The time he puts into improvements and communicating with members is phenomenal, there are hundreds of training apps out there but if you want one that is really personable and worthwhile, then look no further!
