Typeahead is a search-only launcher for Android. No home-screen grid, no icons, no folders — just a black screen and a search box. Open your phone, start typing, and the app you want is one tap away.

Most launchers fill your screen with icons that pull you into apps you never meant to open. Typeahead does the opposite: it gets out of the way so you use your phone less.

WHY TYPEAHEAD

• Type to launch — the keyboard is already up. Type a few letters, hit go, and the top match opens.
• Pin favourites — long-press to pin the apps you use most; they sit on the home screen, ready.
• Hide the noise — hide apps you never want to see in search.
• Custom aliases — give any app your own search keyword (type "bird" to open your social app).
• Smart ranking — your most-used apps rise to the top automatically.
• Gestures — swipe down for notifications, up for settings, left or right for the full app list.
