Pinboard is a volunteer shift board designed to feel like a familiar community corkboard, letting you find and sign up for open help slots without creating an account. The app revolves around Shifts, each with a title, date, time, and an optional volunteer name that stays empty until someone signs up. On the Dashboard, you get an instant summary of total open shifts and how many shifts you have committed to, displayed on pinned announcement cards with a torn-paper look. A prominent quick-action button on the Dashboard takes you straight to the Find Shifts tab so you can start browsing immediately. The Find Shifts tab lists every open shift where a volunteer is still needed, with each card showing the event details and a green top edge to signal availability. Tapping Sign Up instantly adds your name as "You" to that shift, moving it to the My Shifts tab and changing its sticky note edge to a muted amber for taken status. My Shifts keeps track of all your commitments in one place, where you can review upcoming times or cancel with a single tap to free the slot for someone else. Organizers and volunteers can quickly post new opportunities using the Add Shift tab, filling out a short form that drops a fresh sticky note onto the board with no sign-in required. Every list screen supports swipe-to-delete, giving you a natural way to remove outdated shifts without digging through menus. A simple search bar on both the Find Shifts and My Shifts tabs lets you filter shifts by title, so you can instantly find specific events or tasks. All shift data is saved locally on your device, meaning your board stays private, works offline, and never asks for a login or a cloud connection. The entire experience is styled with a corkboard texture, slightly rotated note cards pinned with thumbtack icons, and handwritten marker-style fonts that reinforce the hands-on volunteer spirit. When you haven't signed up for anything yet, My Shifts shows a gentle empty-state illustration that encourages you to explore open opportunities. Pinboard is perfect for community organizers posting a few quick slots and for volunteers who want a straightforward sign-up board without notifications or account hurdles.
