Era of Chaos is a Strategy RPG with PvP battles in real-time!

The game tries to be a mixture of 2 kind of games (the old and mighty Heroes III, and the new type of mobile RPG). It doesn't feel like the mixture of both does a great job. (the story line became more boring, the old way of telling the story through exploring the map was way better. The second and more important point is that this game is a lot pay to win. Free to play player doesn't stand a chance when facing p2w player (since you can buyout most of the cool stuff). :( Sadly I loved Heroes III

I enjoyed the game so much that I decided to purchase a monthly card. After a couple of days I still hadn't received it. Another couple of days and some emails later support verified the purchase. Instead of activating the card they send me what I would have gotten over the month in an in game mail. By doing that I didn't get the extras I was due for that being my first purchase. Being completely fed up at this point I wrote the $10 off as a loss and stopped playing.

This isn't a bad game by any means. That being said, I uninstalled it. I played for a week and just got bored. Except for the "soldier" characters, this game is nothing like the original Heroes of M&M III. I'm sure strategy comes into play at some point, but it takes too long to get there. The tutorial took like 30 minutes in which you can't even explore the game, just forced to click where the tutorial prompts you. Then after, you're left wondering what you're supposed to do & how best to do it
