About this app

***Note: Starting Android 6.0, Android removed programmatic access to the device’s local hardware identifier for apps using the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This update broke the app’s ability to pair with the remote. Our latest update addresses this problem.

The One For All Setup app is used to set up devices on the One For All Smart Control (URC 7980). The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (also known as Bluetooth Smart) to communicate with the remote control, giving access to the full online database of over 7,000 brands and 335,000 individual models of Audio/Video devices. Devices can be set up by model search, function search or directly selecting the code. With the latest integration, use Virtual Agent to guide you through setting up your remote with helpful tips. The app also gives you access to the Remote Finder functionality, allowing you to locate your remote by simply pressing a button and listening for the beep.

Features:

• Search by brand, model, function or code
• Automatic setup on the One For All Smart Control
• Ensures compatibility with your Home Entertainment devices, now and in the future
• Use Virtual Agent to help you set up your remote
• Remote finder – locate your remote using your phone
• Requires a Bluetooth Smart capable phone

The process of pairing was very frustrating, requiring me to factory reset 3 times. I finally got the application to push my TCL Roku TV configuration after several hours of failure. Here are some points for new owners. 1: Make sure you permit location access. 2: Restart your phone after installation and before pairing. 3: Expect the app to show disconnected all the time. After pairing simply add a device and you'll see the device led flash while it is talking. If it fails, restart the phone.

Very basic. The UI is very simple but not user friendly. It only allows you to edit the main devices of the remote and not the macros and activities. It would be nice to be able to completely setup the remote and save a backup of everything in the app. It would also be nice to be able to switch between different profiles on the remote through the app. Overall this is unique but really needs a good polish.

Keeps disconnecting from remote and resets any entered device info Everytime it reconnects to the remote. The remote has issues w/buttons not executing function correctly within certain apps. "Back" button (NOT directional arrow. Button literally says "Back") in Roku (My model not listed. Used similar model # listed), does nothing. No button went back like Roku remote. Only "Home" would go all the way back to Roku Main Menu. Also, volume doesn't work unless switched to "TV" input.
