About this app
"Patron saint under music" is a re-created learning media that transformed the knowledge content of the 2020 Taipei Zoo "The Beauty of Sound" special exhibition. It was created by students from the Department of Learning and Media Design of Taipei City University. This app Through the interactive learning of animations, picture books, games, etc., players can learn about the cute bird in the zoo's Taiwan zoo-the horned owl.
The name of the learning media is taken from the Bunun tribe’s child-giving bird. According to Bunun’s legend, if you hear an owl call near your home, it means that the women of this family will soon be pregnant. Through this legend, we combined with the theme of the special exhibition to come up with "The Guardian God under the Joy of Light-Scops Owl".
The collared owl under the "Le" light covers two reading media and four game levels.
The first reading medium is the cute animation [Birth of a New Life-Little Witch] in which the horned owl is born.
There are four learning levels next:
Level 1: The appearance of the patron saint, starting from the appearance of the scops owl, through the information bar, plus simple multiple-choice questions, let players understand the basic appearance of the scops owl through "trial and error learning", and then to the scops owl In-depth understanding of appearance.
Level 2: Peek-a-boo at night, playing the sounds of six animals including the collared owl, allowing players to find out about the differences initially. In the game of hide and seek, it is necessary to identify the source of the sound, and complement the knowledge in the information bar, so that the player has a better understanding of the animal's tweet.
Level 3: The home of the patron saint. In this search and find game, with pictures and information bars, the player knows the habitat of the collared owl, and finally the player will learn the characteristics of the collared owl in the game.
Level 4: The Secret of the Guardian God, through a mini game that compares the left and right side of the horned owl, with pictures and information bars, players can learn more about the characteristics of the horned owl.
The second reading medium is a picture book [Little Witch's Urban Adventure], which describes the crisis encountered by the cousins of the horned owl in the city. The development of cities has caused indiscriminate cultivation of forests and destruction of ecological areas. Many natural creatures cannot live in the forest. Coupled with various pesticide poisonings in farmland, this has created a crisis of survival for the scops owl. Even if it migrates to the city, " The issue of the "window killing" crisis also arises. The knowledge of ecological conservation of the scops owl in the picture book hopes that learners can better understand how to care for the scops owl and contribute to ecological conservation.
