Ambient Hanzi teaches Mandarin Chinese vocabulary across HSK 1 through 6, plus the advanced HSK 7-9 tier, with spaced-repetition flashcards, stroke order writing practice, listening dictation, and home screen widgets.
STUDY TOOLS
• Character breakdowns: what each component contributes, meaning, sound, or history.
• Tone curves: a curve under each word's pinyin shows its tone shape.
• Flashcards: grade your recall on words or sentences, on a spaced-repetition schedule.
• Dictation: hear a sentence, then rebuild it with word tiles, pinyin, or characters.
• Writing: watch stroke order animate, then trace each character on a 田字格 grid, checked stroke by stroke.
WIDGETS
Five home screen widgets (word, grid, date, clock, battery) cycle through HSK vocabulary. An optional notification can also show a word. New words unlock gradually as you study.
