TinySpeak is an assistive voice input tool for people with motor or dexterity impairments who have difficulty typing on a touchscreen keyboard. It lets users start recording, convert speech into editable text, and insert the dictated text into the currently selected text field.
Key features:
Start voice recording quickly from the app
Convert recordings into editable text
Reduce manual typing for users with limited hand movement, tremors, repetitive strain, or other fine motor challenges
Auto-paste transcribed text when enabled
Play back the latest recording for review
On Android, use an accessibility-powered voice input bubble near editable fields
TinySpeak is designed to help users who cannot comfortably type long messages, notes, or form entries by hand. The app supports user-controlled voice input: recording starts only when the user begins a voice action, and the resulting text can be reviewed before use.
TinySpeak requires microphone access to record audio and network access to send recordings for transcription. On Android, TinySpeak uses AccessibilityService only to detect editable text fields, show a voice input button, and insert the text dictated by the user into the selected field. TinySpeak does not read passwords, monitor unrelated activity, perform unrelated automated actions, or sell or share accessibility data.
