Veil is a private photo vault that keeps your personal pictures encrypted and
hidden behind a PIN and your fingerprint. Photos you add to Veil are removed from
your normal gallery view and locked inside the app — so anyone scrolling through
your phone only ever sees what you choose to show them.

Everything happens on your device. Veil has no internet permission at all, no
account to create, and no cloud. Your photos are encrypted with AES-256 using a
key stored in your phone's hardware-backed keystore, which means they can't be
read even if someone copies the files off your device.

**Your privacy, by design**
Veil cannot upload your photos because it has no network access. There are no
analytics, no ads SDKs, and no third-party trackers. You don't sign in, because

**Important**
Because your photos are encrypted on your device with no cloud backup, please keep
your own backups of anything irreplaceable and remember your PIN. If you uninstall
Veil or wipe your device, encrypted photos that exist only inside Veil cannot be
recovered. This is the trade-off that keeps them truly private.
