About this app

VelaPing connects people who live independently at home and would like occasional support with their personal network of trusted family, friends, neighbors, and, if desired, a care service.

A brief daily check-in is all it takes: The person being monitored can simply answer the question, "How are you today?" If there is no response, VelaPing first reminds the person and can then inform their designated contacts.

THE INDIVIDUAL DAILY CHECK

VelaPing can detect unusually long periods of inactivity that don't fit the usual daily routine. The app gently inquires whether everything is alright. Only if there is no response can the designated contacts be notified.

EASILY CONFIRM MEDICATION

Enter medications and their administration times, set reminders, and confirm with a green checkmark. If a dose is missed for too long, a trusted contact can be notified. VelaPing does not provide dosage or treatment recommendations.

SOS, FALL DETECTION, AND EMERGENCY PROFILE

The large SOS button starts a cancelable countdown and then notifies your trusted contacts, including your location if you have shared it. Fall detection can identify unusual movement patterns and also initiate the cancelable SOS sequence. Your secure emergency profile allows you to store important information such as medications, allergies, intolerances, pre-existing conditions, and your doctor's contact information.

MEETING PEOPLE

If you wish, you can make yourself visible to neighbors on a map with an approximate location (rounded to within about 200 meters, never your address). After accepting a request, you can message each other in the app, exchange phone numbers if desired, and agree to look out for one another. Reporting and blocking are possible at any time.

OPTIONAL: VELAPING PLUS

With VelaPing Plus, a friendly AI call can be made once a day. The voice addresses you by your first name and asks how you are and if you have food and medication, for example. The result is categorized as everything is OK, a calm notification, urgent assistance required, or unreachable. If the person cannot be reached, a second attempt and subsequent escalation are possible.

Also included in Plus: the emergency call for helpers and the 24/7 hotline. If no one in the designated contact group confirms an urgent report, the registered helpers are also called by phone – ensuring that the notification reaches them even if their phone is on silent. If the report remains unanswered, a human operator takes over around the clock – they only see the location with explicit consent.

VelaPing Plus costs €29.99 per month and is valid per person. The daily call is optional; the core app functions remain free. The subscription renews according to the terms and conditions displayed on Google Play at the time of purchase and can be managed or canceled via Google Play.
