A great app for desktop and phone! It took a little bit of time to synch my Android phone with the desktop version but that was just a firewall issue. I can play and synch my music easily now. I have over 11,000 tracks and MediaMonkey manages, finds, plays and catalogs them all easily. I highly recommend it as a replacement for iTunes. That's why I tried it and I haven't regretted it in the least.
Finally! Since ending the tyranny of iTunes on my life several years ago, I've been looking for a player like this. It's intuitive. It has useful functions. It recognizes duplicates and doesn't break apart albums that happen to have several artists on them. It makes your toast in the morning. Okay it doesn't do that. But the other stuff is totally true. Love both the phone app and the desktop interface.
A lot worse than expected I have been unable to find shuffle. I know it has it as others talk about it. If something as ubiquitous as shuffle is so difficult to find then I do not want to waste my time on it. Pi player works great instead. For those who know where shuffle is do not bother telling me. The point is that it is not easy to locate and going through multiple screens to find it is an utter waste of time.
I really enjoy this app! I recently ran into a problem. I got some new music as well as a new phone (samsung galaxy s5). After multiple re-installs and re-downloads of my music archive it still wouldn't see my new music. I know the music is on the phone. If I use the system file browser, I can select the new songs and mediamonkey will play them but it still can't see them in it's own music list. The same problem happened on my Kyocera but I was able to fix that one. Apps are up to date. I want to continue using this amazing!!!
I'm a fan, MediaMonkey doesn't treat me like a monkey This app does for my android what its desktop version does at my computer. Now all of that power is in my phone. A lot of control over my music library and playlists. Ive had some of my playlists syncing buggy in the past (and update) recently got worse with a new phone and Android version. Waiting hopefully for a fix...
One mean media player You could add a stop fade and skip fade option, I dislike abruptly stopped music but sometimes you just need to press skip. Other than that, Perfect!
