About this app

"Eine Entscheidung machen" is understandable, and wrong. A German speaker says "eine Entscheidung treffen".

Verbindung drills exactly that difference: which verb actually belongs with which noun. These are the Nomen-Verb-Verbindungen and Funktionsverbgefüge that separate correct German from natural German: Rücksicht nehmen, zu einem Ergebnis kommen, in Frage stellen.

Most apps teach you the noun. The hard part was never the noun.

▍2,490 collocations
Everyday, academic and professional German. Every card carries a real example sentence, an English meaning and a Turkish meaning.

▍Spaced repetition that actually schedules
The SM-2 algorithm shows each collocation just before you would forget it. Cards you miss come back sooner; cards you know get out of the way.

▍Four ways to practise
• Fill in the blank. A German sentence with the noun removed, and four collocations built on the same verb, so the answer turns on usage rather than guesswork
• Meaning to German. An English or Turkish gloss, four German collocations
• Blocksatz. A block puzzle where two of the three pieces are locked behind a word. Type the missing half of the collocation and the piece is yours to place. Fill a line and it clears
• Lichtspiel. A light-up pyramid of eighteen floors, from stellen/stehen where the case is visible in the article, up to haben/sein where only usage decides. Score 80% to build a floor, 90% or 100% to light it brighter and for longer. The light fades over days, so a floor kept alight is a collocation kept learned.

▍Grammar the pyramid makes visible
The lower floors drill Wechselpräpositionen: accusative for movement, dative for position. auf den Tisch stellen against auf dem Tisch stehen. The article is the whole lesson, and the game is built around seeing it.

▍Fachsprache
What the patient says and what you say to the consultant are two words for the same medicine. Atemnot in the waiting room, Dyspnoe on the ward round. Four decks of twelve pairs: Symptome, Körper, Diagnosen, Untersuchung.

▍A card on the home screen
A widget shows what is due today, so the deck stays in view without opening the app.

▍Hear it
Built-in German text-to-speech reads every example sentence aloud, with a mute switch when you need silence.

▍Watch it add up
Daily streak, seven-day activity chart, accuracy, and New / Learning / Relearning / Mastered counts.

▍English and Turkish
Full interface and glosses in both.

▍Offline, no account
Everything is on the device. No sign-up, no sync, nothing to lose when you lose signal.

For A2 to C2 learners, and for anyone preparing Goethe, telc, TestDaF, DSH or the Einbürgerungstest. Free with ads; an optional subscription or a one-time purchase removes them.

Viel Erfolg beim Lernen.

What’s new

A deck entry corrected in the last update did not reach devices that already had it. It does now: schlafende Hunde wecken replaces an entry that was not real German.
