Ads make it impossible to use! Every time I closed a menu I have to sit through an ad, which is frustrating and ruins the experience. uninstalling. *edit I opened the menu didn't find the setting I was looking for and closed it. AD. Went to a different menu to see if it was the one needed, closed it. Another ad. There were less than 30 seconds of looking through the menu options. Ads are also bright and have sound, which is disruptive for night time use. ZERO STARS

We believe that the ads frequecy is exaggerated, but unfortunately, we can not remove ads, as this is a source of of revenue that allows to support Star Walk. But you can easily do that from the add-on content section of the app, by starting the free 7-days trial.

Even though I now have Star Walk 2, I wanted to keep this for the simpler layout which is sometimes easier to use when sky watching. This lacks many of the features that SW2 has but just like the difference between Solar Walk & Solar Walk 2, this has aspects that weren't incorporated into the 2nd version. Ideal for an astronomy beginner & the $5 annual upgrade fee is well worth it. EDIT: update seems to have restored functionality which is great because when this works it is fantastic!

AWESOME APP! This app is amazing. You can touch an object, star, planet, satellite and an info button will appear at the bottom. Touch that and it tells you all about the item with additional photos etc. The background music just takes you away while you explore the cosmos from the comfort of your chair. I haven't gone outside yet with this but plan on it. I'm sure it will help me find items in the night sky.
