About this app

BrainDump helps you capture ideas before they slip away.

Speak naturally, review the transcript, restructure it with the help of a local AI and save your thought as a note in a few quick steps.

Organize your ideas with categories and tags.

Browse your saved notes later and export the content you choose.

All current BrainDump features are free to use, with no subscriptions, ads, or account required.

Features:
- Fast speech-to-text idea capture
- Review and edit transcripts before saving
- Optional on-device summaries with editable titles
- Categories and tags for organizing ideas
- Local text and PDF exports
- Copy to clipboard or share through other apps
- Local backup export
- Delete-all controls in Settings

BrainDump is designed to be local-first and privacy-focused.

Your ideas, transcripts, summaries, tags, categories, settings, and local AI models stay on your device. BrainDump does not require an account, cloud sync, ads, analytics SDKs, or online storage.

Once Android on-device speech recognition and a local AI model are configured, BrainDump can operate fully offline — including in airplane mode.

Speech recognition is requested through Android's on-device recognition service, and availability depends on your device.

Optional local summarization and text polish models require a user-initiated download - managed in the "Settings" section.
When running with the default one (Gemma), the app uses up to 3.2 GB of RAM. If the device has 4 GB or less, the system may close the app automatically to free up system resources.

BrainDump does not upload your recordings, transcripts, notes, or summaries to developer-owned servers.

BrainDump currently supports multiple languages speech capture.
