About this app

Volcanoes & Earthquakes shows the latest earthquakes worldwide or only quakes near you, as well as earthquake "I-felt-it" reports for earthquakes, in near real-time. It also shows active volcanoes on a map and as a list, along with volcano news from all the world.
You can filter and display the data in various ways, for example by magnitude or age of earthquakes, distance from your location, volcano status and much more.

Normally, it is a 5 stars app, but for some unknown reason, there was no notification of the California recent events in my phone. In fact, in the list, there is only one. Filters and settings were rechecked multiple times. Something feels clumsy in the map, graphically overloaded. It is like it is getting busy doing other things and missing the primary real one goal.

After the M7 quake in California, we were testing to exclude aftershocks from generating notifications (as there would be really many!), but probably we went too far. We're now working on a reasonable way in-between. As to the map, you can vastly adjust what is displayed, sizes and styles in the advanced settings if you're not happy with defaults.

**REPLY TO DEVELOPER: It's your app. It has nothing to do with websites or browsers. None of my browsers are allowed notifications.** I'm about ready to uninstall this app. Just loves to send notifications that you don't want. I have volcano alerts turned off everywhere. Then I turned off earthquake notifications except for those in my country within 100 km. Doesn't matter. I get earthquake and volcano alerts from places 1,000s of km away. Too much!

(updated reply) Very strange! You're the first to report a similar problem. Are you sure it is OUR app? The app doesn't have settings to send only notifications by country, only by specific locations you define... or global / around your position that is changing. We'd appreciate you send more info via email (support@volcanodiscovery.com)

I do wish there were some more definitive stats, like how many earthquakes in the last 24 hrs, this week, this month, etc. I upgraded the app in hopes that this feature would be there. Great app though Just one other thing..and not that this is an app issue, but after I upgraded about an hour ago.. I have received 3 phone calls from a France number, I live in the US, it rings once and they hang up. I searched and found that this is a scam. Not the apps fault..I'm sure its google's fault!
