About this app

Are you ready for electromobility?

The Volkswagen EV Check App helps you answer the following questions:

Is an electric car worth it for me?
Does an e-car suit my driving style?
Does it make sense to shift now to an electric car from Volkswagen?

Whatever make you drive - record your driving style (mobility profile) and compare the values with an electric car from Volkswagen.

It’s very easy to get started:
1. Install the app
2. Select your current passenger car model (the app supports all common models since 1994)
3. The app easily and automatically records your journeys
4. Then you compare your driving style with a current e-car from Volkswagen, for example the ID.4, the ID.3 or an e-Golf

The comparison shows you how far you get with an electric car, what it would cost, how easy charging electricity is, where the next charging station is and how long the charging would take.

Select your current vehicle’s make and model before the first journey. The app then automatically records all journeys that you make with your car and generates a personal mobility profile.

Here you can have the following information displayed at any time:
- driving distance covered,
- battery and energy consumption,
- CO2 emissions as well as
- total costs

You can now compare all of the information on the journeys you have taken with a Volkswagen electric car of your choice. This will show you whether you could also have made all your journeys in an EV (electric vehicle). And above all: how much energy, CO2 and costs you would have saved as a result. You can also get a recommendation on the electric car that best fits your "mobility profile".

The nearest charging stations are also displayed, and a simulation gives insight on the charging times for a so-called EV (electric vehicle).

Trim levels, details on design and vehicle functions of the ID.3 can also be experienced in the Augmented Reality (AR) mode. In this way the vehicle can also be placed virtually in any space, on a desk or directly in front of you on the street.

The vehicles and features shown in this presentation can differ in individual details from the current German product line. Here and there optional extras are depicted that come at an extra price. Please consult our configurator for an overview of the currently available models and equipment.

The data does not relate to an individual vehicle and is not a component of the offer, but rather serves solely for purposes of comparison between the different vehicle types.

The app lists all current public charging stations for electric cars, including the Ionity charging stations. The "mobility profile" depends on your own driving style.

Trip tracking seems really inaccurate. I got 16.8 miles using 1% battery when I first installed the app then, after deleting and reinstalling, it's now saying 22% battery lost for the same trip. For context, it was the same journey, 16.8 miles at 65mph on the motorway and running the app on a galaxy s10 plugged into my car usb port. Not sure what's going on but it doesnt seem very reliable.

Works pretty well but seems a bit optimistic. Only problem, it starts tracking even when I am not using ANY transportation mode. This happens also when the Allow auto tracking setting is off.

Neat little tracker but missing some key metrics and functions that would be extremely helpful: * Time spent charging. When I'm on a trip I want to know for how long I had to stop somewhere, not guesstimate from a 100x speed simulation. * Timed charging. I want to specify how much time I spent on charging. X minutes@100kW for example. What's my battery status now? * Statistics like kWh/100km for trip and lifetime. * Planned charging. How long does it take to charge to x%.
