The Volkswagen app is the digital companion for your Volkswagen. It enables you to use Volkswagen’s mobile online services and immerse yourself in the world of Volkswagen.

Enjoy an extensive range of VW Connect services and features, for instance:

• View your remaining range and current charge level even when you're not in the vehicle.
• Use the air conditioning feature to bring your vehicle to a pleasant temperature before your journey, whenever you want or at your usual departure times.
• View your vehicle's last parking position and share it with other apps to navigate to it.
• Check whether your vehicle’s doors and windows are closed and the light is off.
• Conveniently lock and unlock your vehicle remotely.
• Plan destinations and routes in the app before you start your journey and send them to your vehicle.
• Save the details of your preferred authorised workshop so that they can contact you as soon as a scheduled service is due.
• Manage your mobile online services and any optional accessories that can be activated at a later date.
• Check selected warning and indicator lamps in your vehicle, as well as your next service interval.

To use the mobile online services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and to log in to the Volkswagen app with your username and password. You also have to take out a separate contract for using mobile online services with Volkswagen AG online at www.myvolkswagen.net or via the Volkswagen app. You can find more information at connect.volkswagen.com and from your Volkswagen dealership.

The range of features varies in particular depending on the vehicle configuration, contract, software version, user role and market. Certain features may become available for your vehicle only at a later date where applicable. Install the updates that are regularly offered to take full advantage of the features available to you.

DON'T BOTHER BUYING A VW IF YOU WANT GOOD APP INTEGRATION. GLITCHIEST I HAVE COME ACROSS. This time I have watched as the boxes in the app homescreen which show the charge of the car and the air conditioning removed themselves. I have tried reinstalling the app. What is the point of having an app that doesnt do anything. VW always seem to be doing "updates" that make their products worse, instead of leaving it alone. Anyone competent would know to check the system for bugs before rolling it out.

I like the app. I find the heating and battery level features very useful. I would like the car locked icon to be bigger and maybe coloured green for open and red for locked. I did email VW about this but it's not been done yet. It would make a lot of sense to me as I'm older and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Other than that it's a good app.

No where near as good as the previous we onnect app. Cant verify id as the screen doesn't show properly. Mistakenly set Germany as where I live and unable to change it. The easy view to see if your car is locked has gone. Complete waste of time and not much point in having. after your free period they want you to pay £109 for a year. Totally not worth it. The only benefit to you is basic car info. VW get all the benifits. Don't waste your money
