About this app

W4MSI Logger is a flexible Amateur Radio logging app designed for portable, field, and everyday operating.

Built for practical field use, W4MSI Logger combines fast logging with GPS-assisted tools, offline reference data, mapping, ADIF/GPX export, backup and restore, and support for multiple Amateur Radio activities.

Current logging workflows include Summits on the Air (SOTA), Parks on the Air (POTA), Tiles On The Air (TOTA), and general Amateur Radio contacts, with room for additional logging workflows over time.

SOTA Logging

• Create and manage SOTA activations
• Record summit references
• Log Summit-to-Summit (S2S) contacts

POTA Logging

• Optional offline POTA parks database
• Search parks and discover nearby parks using GPS

TOTA Logging

• Create and manage TOTA activations
• Select a tile using GPS, map selection, or manual entry
• Log Tile-to-Tile (T2T) contacts
• Optional GPS Journey Recording
• Inside/Outside tile status and entry/exit alerts
• Map view with position, Journey, and tile boundaries
• ADIF and GPX export

Combined Activations

Operate SOTA, POTA, and TOTA individually or together from one logging workflow. Enter common contact information once while W4MSI Logger maintains the appropriate records for each selected program.

Supported combinations include SOTA + POTA, SOTA + TOTA, POTA + TOTA, and SOTA + POTA + TOTA.

Multi-Operator Contacts

Use Add Operator when multiple operators share the same station or exchange. Shared contact details and activation references can be entered once while W4MSI Logger creates the appropriate contact records.

International Callsign Support

Worldwide callsign country recognition is built into W4MSI Logger and works offline without an additional download.

Optional downloadable callsign databases provide enhanced offline lookup information where suitable authoritative data is available:

• United States - FCC Amateur Radio database
• Canada - ISED Amateur Radio database

These databases can provide additional operator, club, location, license, or qualification information when available from the source.

Offline Field Operation

Core logging features are designed to work without an active Internet connection.

Android users can optionally download:

• Offline U.S. callsign data
• Offline Canadian callsign data
• Offline POTA parks data
• Offline map packages for supported U.S. regions

Normal contact logging, saved records, activation logging, worldwide callsign country recognition, and GPS Journey Recording do not require an Internet connection.

General Log

W4MSI Logger includes a General Log for contacts outside organized activation programs, with fast QSO entry, contact editing, callsign lookup, ADIF import, and ADIF export.

Log Management and Export

• Review and edit saved contacts
• Previous activations grouped by date
• Linked indicators for contacts and activations logged together
• Save and share ADIF and GPX files

Backup & Restore

Create portable backups of settings, activations, contacts, General Log records, and Journey GPS points. Backups can be saved to the device or shared elsewhere.

Privacy-Focused

W4MSI Logger does not require an account or contain third-party advertising. Logs, activation information, settings, and Journey data are primarily stored locally on your device.
