About this app

Flock U maps automated license plate readers (ALPRs) and traffic cameras across the United States, shows which ones a drive would pass, and plans a real driving route around the ones it can — and tells you plainly when it can't.

WHAT IT DOES
• A nationwide camera map, built from OpenStreetMap and community reports, with the survey date shown so you can judge how current an area is.
• Every brand identified — Flock, Motorola, Genetec, Axon, Rekor and more. Long-range readers are counted at their real read distance, and toll gantries are treated as readers that see every lane.
• Route planning that steers around known cameras where a road exists to do it. Where none does, it says so instead of pretending. Avoid tolls and highways too.
• Turn-by-turn navigation with camera alerts, your speed and the posted limit on screen, and Android Auto on the car screen.
• An offline camera pack (~4 MB): download every known ALPR and alerts keep working with no signal.
• The law on your route: which states you cross and how long each keeps plate reads — marked "by law" when it comes from a statute, "reported" when it is only what agencies disclose.
• Nearby search for gas, food and coffee, a detour-time budget you control, and one-tap handoff of your destination to Waze.
• Alerts when a new camera appears in an area you choose to watch.
• A sourced library on how these systems work and what courts have held.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
It does not make you invisible, and it never claims to. The map covers cameras that are publicly documented — others certainly exist. In dense areas there is often no route that misses every camera, and the app tells you that rather than quietly failing. Nothing here helps anyone damage, disable, or interfere with a camera, and that is not a feature we will add.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
No email, no phone number, no name to sign up. Routes and address searches are answered and discarded — we keep no history of where you've been. Payment is handled by Google Play; we never see or store your card number.
