Review from Adam
Great app for the most part, easy to use and navigate. The only issue I have is that while navigating and a e.g. a turn is coming up, info regarding the turn appears in the top left, but this ends up blocking a lot of the map and sometimes a lot of my route too, which makes navigation considerably harder as I'm not quite sure just how far away it is on the satnav.

Ever since the update in late 2017 the Waze app has never been the same. Won't work at all! Even after uninstalling, reinstalling several times, and losing all my saved drives. Make it work again, and I will update my review. Until then, it's Google Maps for me. At least it works properly. Waze will be uninstalled after I post this. I will check back here to see if any rep actually gives some constructive input. Not holding my breath though.
Would be great if the Android version worked in upside-down portrait orientation like the iOS version does. Seems like a simple change. I usually put my phone in the car cup holder and it's difficult to charge my phone and use the app at the same time because the charger jack is at the bottom and I can't flip the phone upside down if I use Waze.
I loved using Waze and I was racking up a lot of points. When signing into a new phone my account says I put in the wrong information. I reset the pw in the app and made sure I typed it correctly and it seemed to have not made it to the server (old pw didn't work either). Customer service was no help to recover the account.
Overall lack of settings but most importantly, it doesn't auto dim with low light, this is a big problem. There's no satellite view only a vibrant blue line on an excessively bright white background. Seems finicky so far but could have potential..
Frequent crashes and a clunky interface. I was using this app recently for a long 14 hour road trip. When I went a Seperate route, there were two available, the app constantly tried to turn me around instead of rerouting automatically. Google maps automatically picked up on the change. Frequently crashed when I tried to zoom in or out and just a hard to navigate interface. Absolutely going back to using Google maps. Showing the speed limit was nice but most other features were entirely pointless and distracting.
Since an update towards the end of last year, the navigation position has been lagging behind your current actual position. I can be past a road and it still thinks it hasn't got there yet. Google Maps has no such issue. Until that's fixed it makes it very hard to navigate new places. Google Pixel 2 XL
