State is a setting. Switch yours.
Three states. Seven protocols. Two minutes each.
You already know what you need to do next. Whiff State OS is the switch
between knowing and starting.
AXON — SHARPEN
Scattered to locked. Box breathing before deep work. A three-breath reset
for the moment between meetings, when your attention is still in the last
one.
SOMA — ACTIVATE
Flat to moving. Rapid breathing with retention to bring the body up. Power
Bellows when you would otherwise reach for another coffee.
VAGUS — SETTLE
Wired to quiet. Cyclic sighing to come down fast. Extended exhales to let
go. A 4-7-8 wind-down to close the day.
HOW A SWITCH RUNS
Choose the state. Follow the ring. Every inhale, hold and exhale is paced
for you, with haptics, so you can close your eyes and still keep time.
Each protocol tells you what it is for, when to use it, and when not to.
THEN USE IT
After a focus protocol the app asks for one thing: name the task, set the
block, start. One task. One timer. Nothing else on screen until it ends.
End early whenever you want. When the block closes you log how it went —
including when it went badly. A record that only holds good sessions is
worth nothing.
THE CHAIN
Every completed protocol extends your streak. Per state, and overall. Miss
a day and a shield holds the chain, if you have earned one. Your history
lives with your account and survives a new phone.
THE STATE CAPSULE
Day one, you write what you are here to fix. It is sealed.
Thirty days later it comes back — your own words, next to what you actually
did — and asks what changed. Then you seal the next one.
By day two hundred you are not looking at a graph. You are reading how you
work now against how you worked then.
BUILT ON PUBLISHED RESEARCH
Every protocol is drawn from peer-reviewed breathing research, including
work from Stanford Medicine on structured respiration practices, and
published studies on cyclic hyperventilation, alternate-nostril breathing
and extended-exhale techniques. Each one names its source inside the app.
Read the papers yourself.
THE JARS
Whiff State OS runs on its own and always will. Every protocol works
without owning anything.
If you hold a Whiff, the app tells you when to breathe it in, so the scent
lands with the breath instead of beside it. Scent, breath and command
arriving together is the whole design. The app is the instrument. The jar
sharpens it.
WHAT IT IS NOT
Not a meditation app. Not a sleep library. Not a wellness programme. No
guru, no ambient loop, no subscription nag.
An instrument. Use it and put it down.
Whiff State OS is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure
or prevent any condition. Some protocols are stimulating and carry their
own cautions inside the app. Read them before you run one.
