Winix Smart App requires permissions to the following services:
Even if you do not allow optional permissions, you can still use the service limitedly.

- Location (optional) : Needed to access your current outdoor air quality location.
- Call (optional) : Needed to call customer service.

(The Winix Samrt app never performs other functions using the above permission.)

Absolute garbage. Still shows you ads and won't let you turn them off (except for a day) It's annoying to control multiple fans at once. Some modes you can flip through quickly, but not control. You can't do anything to control all your fans at once or set up groups. You can't even reset the filter timer using the app. The remaining filter time is calculated purely through uptime and ignores the fan speed. cannot connect to Google since their integration is broken

So now, the app quietly stops alerting you to things at all, and if you don't log in for a while, it deregisters all of your devices. Then, when you do login, you can't access anything or even adjust what they can do with your info before you can use the app. You have no obvious choice but to agree so you can use the app. This seems like an illegal move to me. We should be able to opt out of things like the sale of personal information.

AQI chart pointless. So far it doesn't correlate at all to what the screen on top of the machine shows. App shows that my air quality goes from good to fair and back yet multiple times a day it's in the very poor range because I live above Chainsmokers which is why I bought the unit. When I first set it up, it seemed to register correctly now it's just nonsense. The second day of owning the unit and I'm suspicious about The accuracy and the effectiveness of all of it.
