Ratings and reviews

The game itself is great, if a bit aggressively monetized, but on mobile the UI is clunky, the game crashes way too frequently, freezes up often, and is all around very unstable. I'm using a Google Pixel 5a that's basically brand new, so it's not a hardware issue. If at all possible, play it on PC instead. Edit: Not many crashes recently, but the fact that it took so long for this game to be in a playable state makes me not want to give it any higher than 3 stars.

It's the same 1v1 Magic experience without the rank body odor or annoying gatekeeping you might see at an LGS. Dinged a star due to technical issues. The game will freeze no matter what you do or don't do on your phone. When it freezes, the music still plays, so there have been times where I thought my opponent was stalling. By the time I close and reopen the app, my turn has been skipped, which usually means a loss. The game doesn't recover well from a spotty connection either.

I like magic: the gathering, it's always a fun time, but the mobile app could use a few things. It's really annoying that the bundles don't say what's in them on mobile, I shouldn't have to Google them to find out. Also, for some reason the UI is extremely unresponsive when selecting targets for spells, blockers, etc. I once had to tap on a card 23 TIMES to actually select it for a spells effect.
