The WorkCalmly companion app allows you to block distracting app during your focus sessions.
WorkCalmly uses Android's Accessibility Service to power its app blocking feature. When a focus session is active, the Accessibility Service monitors which app is in the foreground. If you open an app you've chosen to block, WorkCalmly immediately overlays a block screen — reminding you to stay focused and preventing distraction.
This is the only reliable way to detect foreground app changes and enforce blocking on Android without requiring root access. The Accessibility Service is used solely for this purpose and operates only during active focus sessions. WorkCalmly does not use it to collect, record, store, or transmit any information about your app usage or device activity.
You remain in full control at all times — the Accessibility Service can be disabled in your Android settings whenever you choose.
