EarthTurn is a world time watch face for Wear OS, built for the Samsung Galaxy Watch, for people who like maps. The whole face is the earth seen from above the North Pole, drawn in the style of an old atlas, and it turns once a day exactly as the real one does. The sun is fixed at the top, so noon is always up and midnight always down, and a ring of 24-hour numerals sits around the rim: wherever a city is pointing, that is its hour.

Day and night are painted on the map as they really fall, with the real twilight band, and the shape changes through the year: in June the whole Arctic is lit, in December it sits in polar night. A dashed line marks the International Date Line along its real bends around Kiribati, Samoa and Tonga, and fine red slashes under the night, with a +1d or -1d beside the line, mark the part of the world that is on a different date from you.

On the day of a total or annular solar eclipse the path of the shadow is drawn across the map, and the shadow itself crosses it during the eclipse (2027 to 2035).

Your local time and date are written large across the top of the map, and a short red bar on the rim marks your own hour on the ring. One or two world zones of your choice sit at the bottom, each as its hour with a +30m or +1d marker when it applies, over its name. Each one is also a dot on the map in its own colour, cyan or orange like its name, so you can see where it is and whether it is in daylight.

Settings, all on the watch (hold the face, tap Customize):
• Map style: vintage atlas or dark; the dark map is also what you see in always-on mode
• Zone 1 and Zone 2: off, or any of 69 time zones, every inhabited one on Earth
• Home: your own place, a white dot on the map
• Date change: Tint and +1d (the red slashes and the label), Tint only, or Line only

Your own zone is never a setting: it follows the watch. Daylight saving changes on its own, per zone, through 2036. The battery appears under the date only at 100% or at 15% and below.
