Great app except the weather never updats based on my location. I drive 25 miles to work with Waze on (therefore GPS is activated the entire time), and the app keeps showing me the weather at home. Status bar is set to current location in settings which doesn't work, it should really say "show weather from the last location you opened this app in." Even after 10 hours away from home the app still wont update.

Well that was quick. Posted a review citing location and animation issues. Within a few days I had a response and an update which seems to have resolved them. Great work at WxU! Thanks. (Edit)...And is that a refresh button in my drop down menu now? Nice addition, might not have noticed it before but I like it. Keeps you from having to launch app to refresh.

I like it. One of the main parts I use is the radar widget. The systems interface is incredibly accurate. Shows storms rolling in and you can look up in the sky and see the same storm. This weather group has come a long ways and are one of the top ones out there now. Started using their softwares because of the flexibility and accuracy across operating systems and platforms. From Windows or Linux (api) at home to Android while mobile to the personal weather station hardwares. These guys are the best.

I'm a truck driver and use this app all the time. It's the most accurate source I have found yet and easy to use.. would have given it 5 stars except for some reason locations I used to check now don't come up. Very frustrating. . I can still check them with old devices that have those locations in history but if I type on new device it just goes blank. Beside that very happy with app.

I've been a long-time fan, and paid member of, Weather Underground. Sadly, up until recently, their Android app has been just okay. With the new major release in January 2016, though, it now takes full advantage of the capabilities of current Android versions. Information is clearly presented, and navigating the screens and controls is quite straightforward. Excellent redesign! ETA 1/17 - They continue to incrementally improve.

Uninstalled after most recent update. New version is a pain to scroll through and read quickly. Also miss the icon in the status bar and being able to switch between cities quickly. Huge disappointment. Update: Gave WU another chance and they have made this app extremely user friendly and quick to use. Definitely recommend this weather app.

Sorry about that. It might be a bad location cache. Please go to device settings - applications - weather underground - clear data, and see if that fixes the issue. We are working to improve radar performance and will release a new version this week fixing the animation issue. I like it. One of the main parts I use is the radar widget. Thank you for your feedback Dustin! We now have a new improved status bar that gives you the temperature for your current location and we will continue to make improvements to this feature to make it more useful for you. Let us know what else we can do to improve the app! Of all the apps I've tried for weather, this seems to be the most accurate. You also get one of the longest forecasts at 10 days, as well as more technical data to go along with the basic things. I wish they had resizable widgets. The phablets and most other phones now allow 5 grid screens, and the 2, 3, or 4 grid widgets look weird. Sometimes it doesn't track my location well; IE it thinks I'm at home when I'm 30mi away at work, but that may be more the phone's GPS and not the app itself. Overall, this is the weather app I always use and download in place of whatever my phone has stock.
Excellent app. Spot on with the temperature, forecast and when it's going to rain. But unfortunately, the severe weather alerts ⚠ as well as uv index all the nice add-ons is not available for South Africa. it gives the information as :no data available. This would have been the ultimate weather app because of the accuracy.
The freekin balm man! Everything you need in a weather app (and then some)! I also have storm by w/u - is also awesome with futurecasting. PS》 crowd reporting: I am kinda bummed with the extreme limited choices what the actual weather is... I have seen actual as different than what limited choices were available to report. I'm still giving 5 as it put weather bug and w1 all to shame with accuracy and ease of use. please update crowd reporting option choices to include (fill in the blank option?)
One of the best apps I've ever used for anything. The amount of customisation is incredible, and the data is presented in a very clear and customisable manner. I love the hourly and daily precip/temp plots as a way to preview the week or the day. There seems to be every kind of weather related facet available to monitor. Combining with app with Nova Launcher (another app on my "Must-Have/Essentials" list) allows all kinds of powerful widget customisation, including resizing and screen placement.
Precipitation notifications too aggressive. Not choosing closest station... UV index added to app but not widget. Same with pollen and others... Doesn't display relative humidity with temp... They should be custom which you choose to display. UV hourly would be nice. Refresh interval needs to allow after unlock IF it hasn't refreshed under X time. temp on widget not synced to temp on notification bar. Adding a star for previous response..

Good feedback, we'll look into it. The only weather app and website I use! It may overestimate on precipitation amounts every so often, but it's nice to get an idea of how big the storm actually is. Also I love that it has any weather warnings and notifies you quickly. My only wish is to see a longer time lapse of storms when you press the play button.
After trying almost every weather app, I think I got the one. Great interface, a lot of options and customization and the only factor that really matters, the weather is just predicted perfectly. How can the others apps not do it? It's the only thing you have to do!
Great app, extremely accurate and we get to help report for even better accuracy. My stock app told me it was 32 degrees outside so i grabbed a large coat. Went outside and it was warm as balls. Downloaded this app and behold, 54 degrees. This is my go to app for all things weather! Great job devs.
Great app! The only thing I don't like is the brightness level on the radar widget. It's too dark and I can barely make out what I'm looking at. Having a way for the user to adjust it or just brightening it up would be awesome! Otherwise it's exactly what I was looking for in a weather app/widget.
Quite a good app. The best I could find and, by God, I tried them all. It is, however, a matter of what one desires from his widgets and so on. It sometimes becomes unresponsive, but this happens once per season so it is not really an issue to look into. More customization would be, however, very welcomed in terms of the info displayed in the widgets, the fonts, the colours etc.
All in all it's a great app. However, it's recently been displaying nautical weather alerts (e.g. small craft advisories), which is super annoying. I live in the Midwest; why would I friggin care about a small craft advisory? It would be awesome if you could customize it to ignore certain alerts like other apps.
I wish I could turn off the small craft advisory alerts. I see it every day and since I have no plans to go boating in February in northeast Ohio, they are meaningless to me. I'd rather only see alerts even there is actual severe weather. The maps are also not loading correctly for me. These are both recent changes, so I hope that with future updates it will return to the app I used to love.
Most accurate weather app for any specific area. All the other weather apps give the weather conditions and temperature for the big cities around my location, this one actually gives me the weather conditions and temperature for my location. As well most apps only update the conditions and weather every hour to 4 hours this one does it continuously like every couple of minutes. Not to mention all the extra weather information that this app gives you, just try I guarantee you'll love it.
A really like the app. My biggest complaint is around widgets. They are not customizable in siE and there are no widgets that are 5x wide. I normally like have a Nx1 across the top of my homepage with the weather but now I'm stuck with an awkward 4x1 or 2x2.
Way more accurate and detailed than any other weather app out there. The only thing I would do different is change First Light And Last Light to Civil Twilight begin and end. Oh, and put in a tide chart too. Other than that, Great job!!
One local personal weather station that is being used in my area is always way off. My phone seems to frequently use it too. There is no way to report bad personal weather stations from within the app. I've emailed the dev but it's still a problem 6 months later. The temperature is frequently off by 10-40 degrees. Otherwise the app is great. But this error makes the app completely useless. I've complained of this before but nothing is ever done to remedy the problem.

Thank you for your feedback. Could you please share with us the station location/ID? For the most part this is a great app. I use it almost daily and find it pretty accurate. (Previous rating-still happens randomly): Ever since last couple updates my hourly weather data is randomly removed for the present day (under 10 day forecast)
This app is so user friendly. It's the best one I've seen. It has everything summarized in one page that you could ever want to know regarding weather conditions in your area, including air pollution counts (which is a problem where I live). I love this app!
This app is great, with lots of data about the weather. The only down side (a really BIG one) is the widget collection. All the widgets suck and are very small on HR devices, which is becoming more and more common. Only by adding a way to resize the widget would make it 100% better already.
I love all the weather data provided and the layout is also very good. My only suggestion would be to make the app able to opt in/ out of individual alerts. There are far too many small craft advisories in my area which are not relevant to me, but interfere with my being able to receive storm warnings. Excellent app otherwise.
Overall, a really good, easy to use weather app. Sometimes (recently) I've noticed that we're expecting rain, but it isn't showing on the hour-by-hour forecast for the current day, and then it's working for the next day. Weird, but oh well -- I still happily use ye app
The only problem I have is, the display name of the city I live in. It says 'Campbell', & that is incorrect. There isn't even a city called Campbell anywhere near me. It used to display the correct city name...I have no idea what changed. I've tried changing it myself to no avail. Would've given 5 stars, great weather app.
The app is pretty accurate and it is more thorough then many other weather apps available. I'm a union carpenter and rely on this app because I work outside in the elements everyday. From before the sun comes up to the end of the workday, as well as throughout the work week I follow this app.
Thouht it would be hard on the battery becuz of all the localized readings but seems to be ok. I like the fact that my favorites show temp conditions and alerts without actually changing sites. I get basic weather my kids live.
Love the graphs, and frequent updates. Day's weather forecast is pretty accurate, but declines further in the future. Struggling with setting up favorite cities on the browser app. It gave me global suggestions I can't seem to get rid of. Overall I like it far better than other weather apps.
Okay, this used to be my favorite app. I love the UI and the way everything is arranged and flows so easily. But the predictions have never less than untrustworthy, they've been all over the place. Just in the last 20 minutes here in Upstate New York the predictions have changed at least twice. This morning it told me there would be no snow, absolutely zero inches. Then 5 minutes ago it said two inches, and now it says .80". I'm better off listening to local radio at this point.
Like the why's and scientific causes of weather events. And although I am sure that global warming is intensified by use of hydrocarbons, I grow weary of your constant nagging. How about a more adult/scientific approach to the causes and reduction of CO2.
Excellent application that I use most days. However, I absolutely hate some of the deceitful ads - like the ones that flash and say my phone is short on space. I would think that Weather Underground is classier than that.
Excellent app, best wx app I've found. My only complaints are that I can't access a written forecast and the app doesn't select the nearest NOAA weather radio broadcast nor can I pick a broadcast. Especially like the load speed and, of course, the wx station selection feature. Would be nice to be able to rate the stations as some are way out of whack & should be unavailable.
Update 11/3: Temp scale now works on my phone, but not my tablet. Update 10/26: The temp scale goes from 40 to 170 degrees? In MN? Come on guys, I love this app when it works, but I am almost done. Update 9/1/16: Maps are back. Holding my breath, adding back a star. One of the few I pay extra for.

Sorry about that. We are experiencing server issues. Our engineering team is working to fix it. Can you please add a 4x1 hourly widget? (Similar to yahoo weather) I was going to switch over until I realized that you only have daily widgets. Not very helpful with planning my day.
I uninstalled another weather app because it was so ad-heavy and took forever to load. This app is much more efficient. The only thing I don't like is the rain alerts, but I'm sure I can turn those off.
I love this app, I work in the Northeast in the winter doing snow removal and this is the only app I trust to give me storm updates. No other app has been as accurate with the amounts and the times it will start and stop snowing. Definitely worth having
Funny, 4 people at a table and two have a complete different set of temperature predictions for the next two days. Not by a degree or two but by 11. We each changed from F to C and back...we all updated and we are all on Verizon...this is flat out BROKEN.
