Ratings and reviews

I've used lots of weather apps and until recent updates this one was hands down my favorite. It has a lot of information but my favorite thing is that the forecast is displayed in a graph which makes it so easy to read at a glance. A few months ago the desktop browser version switched the hourly mode so it doesn't display in graph form anymore. This is a serious detraction - not of the phone app but of its related desktop website. I still love the phone app and use it daily for planning.

I've been using this app for weather for a few years. While I'm generally satisfied, to remove ads costs $4 a month or $20 a year which seems excessive for just this one app. $5 a year would be reasonable (previously it was $2 a year.) There haven't been any improvements or feature additions for more than a year. One obvious update needed for Light/Dark mode is a "System Default" option - at present it doesn't respect the devoxe setting.

The quality of the app took a serious hit when IBM bought them. Every time you switch away from the app it quits completely - you can come back seconds later and it has to load everything all over again. Plus the home screen widget is astonishingly less useful and reliable than it used to be. It used to show a nice temp/precip graph of the upcoming days, but IBM got rid of that. And most of the time the widget won't show current data even when you tell it to refresh. Used to be so much better.
