UPDATE: Changing my 1 star to a 5 star. The developer quickly responded with a fix and now my app doesn't crash. I'm back to loving this app and getting the weather info I want. The map is one of the best I've found. ORIGINAL: This app was great. It gave me all of the weather info I wanted and really good radar. But for the past couple months it keeps crashing, even after I close the app or put it to sleep. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times because I really liked this app. I'm giving up because I'm tired of the constant warnings and inability to open the app.

I'm changing my previous review from one star to four stars. I downloaded the January 2018, version 5.8, and it is working very well. The only reason I deducted one star, was because of the size of the app. I collect weather apps (just my thing) and it uses the second most memory of all my weather apps. In rank order they are Storm Radar, Weather Underground, AccuWeather, Dark Sky. Since my phone is newer, I can handle the large size, but my wife and children, who have older phones, use Weather Timeline (as do I on my older phone). Weather Timeline's footprint is only 1/4 as large as my four largest weather apps. It gives them very good service and leaves them room for other apps. I wiil continue to use Weather Undergeound and I like their widget very much, but less memory usage is needed to get 5 stars.

The app used to be more reliable. It is still decently accurate but only an hour before a weather event... the functions are very useful and temp (i feel) is pretty spot on. It is rather glitchy. Sometimes portions of the weather summary will get cut off (example: snow accumulation amounts will not show.)

Keeps on crashing multiple times a day, on all my devices. Removing widgets, uninstall, reboot, reinstall does not help. Sent many crash reports, no feedback. Clearly the best weather app available, but... The same excessive crashing was fixed some months ago. It's most likely caused by the 2x2 widget (with chart) that shows rain details - one of the reasons I use this app. Update: latest patch seems to fix the issue. Monitoring...

Satellite image has been the same one for days now. No way to provide feedback in app . Doppler radar seems to fail when needed most. The forecast graph is nice. With the constant failures of the app reliability is at about 60%. If using this app always cross check with another more reliable weather source if you are dependent on weather accuracy.

Unfortunately the app is currently unusable. I constantly get alerts that it keeps stopping, and opening it does nothing. If this gets fixed, I'll bump my rating to 5 stars. Edit 2/2/2018 - uninstalled and reinstalled, it still refuses to open. I've got an LG v20 (if it helps, and I hope it does since this was my favorite weather app!)

Sorry to hear that. Please delete the app, stop/start your device, make sure all your WU widgets are uninstalled and do a fresh install with our latest version 5.8.1. Let us know if it fixes your issue.

Used to love it until it started crashing some weeks ago, now it doesn't work and keeps stopping whenever I try to open it. UPDATE Feb 1st, 2018: I followed the developer's advice to uninstall and then reinstall the new version and now it seems to be working correctly. I like this app very much!! I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because other apps have the option to notify me when it is going to rain.

Thank you for your feedback. Please go to Settings (3 dots on the top right corner) then scroll down to Status Notification you will be able to manage the Rain start/stop notifications.

Used this app for years and a paid member...best app for all of your weather needs, wherever you go. Edit: recent update, 1/16, don't care for the completely new format. Wish I would've known that from other reviewers but guess I gotta live with it. If you read this and thinking about the update and like the way your WU is, don't do it. You have been warned. Edit 1/18: the app is way better than the internet version on your home computer. It's junk and doesn't work.

Horribly innacurate and useless as any source of weather info! Temperature graphs are nice but they are so inaccurate and don't correspond with day's forecast that they are totally unusable! Does ever developers actually looked at this creation? I would be embarrassed if I would released something like that! Shame on you! Weather prediction is also inaccurate often! Royal mess! Now, after update, none of the problems that most users complaint about were fixed, but they managed to add full screen ads! I am uninstalling this useless billboard!

The best weather app I've used—rich interface with all information in one place. Does not slow down my phone. I've used it in the US and Central Europe; works fine. There were some compatibility issues with Android v8.1.0, but the developers issued a fix promptly.

UPDATE: I folllowed the instructions for fixing this widget issue, and fingers crossed, it's working so far! Back to a 5 star app! I was great for a number of years, however now the widget keeps crashing! I constantly get a message that "unfortunately weather has stopped". The widget then constantly tries to reload with a spinning circle until it is eventually deleted. I have cleared the cache, deleted data, and uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, all to no avail. Looking at Google I see that I am not alone. Please fix this and give us are working widget back!

I used to really enjoy this app especially the ability to create the custom alerts for optimum cycling weather. Unfortunately, recently the app has been crashing every time I try to access the app. I tried deleting the app, restarting my phon, and reinstalling the app and that worked for a day or two before I started receiving the app crash alerts again. I hope the dev team can fix this soon.

UPDATE: I dumped the application and clean install. Things are working, but time will see. The app keep crashing. I have dumped the cache and it still crashed. So I did a full uninstall/reinstall and the app still crashes. This used to be one of the most rock solid apps, but now it is a 3 star app.

As another reviewer said, this app quit updating the satellite image a week or so ago, and they don't seem to care. What happened to the Weather Underground main website now seems to be happening with the Adroid app. Their website is nearly useless and now they have quit caring about phone apps too. What was once the best weather resource in all of history is now just an advertising platform. Sad to see this happen. Bye bye WU. Edit: Weather Underground sent me instructions to remove the app, restart my phone, and then reinstall. By the fact that it accomplished nothing I assume that they don't have any idea what is wrong. Nor do they care. I paid for this app, but I am going to cancel it as the Weather Underground simply doesn't care any more and I do not wish to have my subscription renew since the app is useless. There are many good weather apps out there, sad to see this happen to an entity that used to be so good.

I USED to love this app. It had been my default weather app for years and was great to be able to easily see all the information. For the last several months all it does is crash and I can't use it at all. Please fix this before I give up all together!

Latest update has added the unpleasant experience of advertising that takes over the entire screen after checking the radar. I certainly understand the need to include adverts, but these are too much. Need to remove them ASAP. Also, Air qual data doesn't seem to be synced with the webs available data aka it's erroneous. Usually a great app but this is a disappointing change.

Used to like it a lot, but now I am frustraded with it having to close several times a day and not working. I have re-installed it 4 times now and I can't get it to stop shutting down down. Jan. 28th. Love it again. It is working now. Thanks! Update: it took longer, but it did it again. It crashed :( says App will close, send feedback, I did and now I can't use the app. Help please!

Was very happy with the App and hence purchased it 6 months back and gave it 5 stars. For the last 1 month the app just keeps crashing. Nothing has changed in terms of device, still using it on my Galaxy S7. It keeps draining the battery and just does not work at all. Not sure what went wrong all of a sudden. 2/1: I tried the steps mentioned by the support team,but no luck yet.

Can't use the app anymore since the latest update cuz it keeps getting an error and shutting off by itself! Update: tried the uninstalling and reinstalling method as the support suggested and it worked at first but it soon after went back to the errors and stopping on its own.

Crashing. Trying suggesting from WU with 5.8.1. Will update if this appears to fix the crashing problems. I have used WU app for many years and web version since the mid 1990's. Very disappointed by the type, size, and frequency of all the ads. Web version unusable without ad blocker. Trying many other weather apps to find something more reliable and usable. Hopefully WU acts on feedback and shifts back to great product.

Used to be great. Now it crashes every time I unlock my phone. Hopefully I can get my add-free subscription refunded if they aren't planning to fix the major issues. Edit 2/6/18 - followed developer's advice to uninstall and start over... latest version worked great again... until yesterday. Now I'm back to constant crashes every time I unlock my galaxy Note 8.

I think it's an amazing app, and the best weather app I've used by far. It has everything from temp, precip, humidity, hourly predictions, all the way to sunrise and sunset time. However, the location setting accuracy is a tad bit off. If it were more accurate it'd be 5/5. If you like weather, this is your app.

It's not what I'd expect from an app willing to charge a yearly subscription fee. The layout of the app is nice. You can tell the widget to update every time you unlock your phone, but not the app itself (so the notification degrees won't always match the widget degrees) There is one widget to choose from and it does not have the option to turn off the displayed map.

With the recent update the app hasn't crashed. It has only been a day but optimistic it'll continue. Back to a five star review! As others are reporting, the app keeps crashing multiple times a day. Removing the widget and then replacing it helps for a day or so but the crashes always come back. Love the app but will have to uninstall due to the constant crashes.

Just installed this. Looks good. Plenty of info on temp, wind and pressure. Links to a good website. Gives 10 day forecast for current location. Even more info after latest update. Not always an accurate forecast. Changing review as for past 6-8 weeks it won't open and I keep getting a message that it's stopped working. Shame cause I used to like this app

Used to be a great weather app with reliable information and radar maps! My solid, go to. However, RECENTLY (mid January, 2018), it has begun crashing instantly every time I try to open it, reflected in the current 2 star rating. When it consistently works again the rating will change.

Temperature in status bar doesn't update automatically. I have to open the app, then it thinks a good while to update then the status bar updates. That's a deal breaker for me. UPDATE: I uninstalled then reinstalled, and no change in performance. The temperature still does not update until I open the app.

Thank you for your feedback. Please go to Settings (3 dots on the top right corner) then scroll down to Status Notification and change the refresh interval to the desired value 30 min, 1 hour... Let us know if it fixes your issue.

Used to absolutely love this weather application and always kept the widget on my home page. But for about a month now, this app keeps crashing and won't refresh or load on my Galaxy S8+. Have sent feedback, uninstall/reinstall and yet the same crashing. Sorry weather underground, but I need a weather application that works.

I really like the graph function and the widget. It's good to have a warning when a storm will start or when the snow will end for example and this app shows it in the notifications. Furthermore, it displeased weather alerts and the temperature on the always on display on my Galaxy S7. It is extremely useful to have these notifications the widget on my home screen and the instantly checkable temperature status on my always on display. They fixed the recent bug which is really cool.

Uninstalled and reinstalled this app about 5 times over the years. At one point it was fantastic and I keep hoping they'll address the problems, but it's been a mess for awhile. This app is unstable. At least three times a day I get an app has stopped working notification. Very annoying.

I like the transparent widget the best. After a recent update caused that to make the app keep "stopping" every time I looked at my phone, Weather Underground became aware of the problem and it seems they have fixed it! :) I feel their forecasts for my immediate rural area are more accurate than what the TV stations report in major cities an hour away.

I'm downgrading my review for this app from 5 Stars 2-1 star. Why? Because it won't allow me to turn off its obnoxious alerts for bad weather. I can look outside and see that the weather is bad. Or if it's not bad yet I can look at the sky. I don't need my phone beeping at me angrily just because. I don't know why. All I know is that this app is getting ripped out of my phone thrown on the ground and stomp the pain until it's dead.

Original review: Was good but the last week or so has been constantly crashing, possibly related to the widget (the main reason I like this app).

Thx for the BEST weather app. Widgets often don't refresh. And radar map doesn't show a still snapshot of rain/snow radar on the main app screen (1st screenshot on Play Store). Moving radar colors do show up once you tap thru to see radar in detail.

I don't need a weather app to tell me whether it might be a good day to go for a walk, I've got a window to look out of to tell me that, and I don't need the additional app set-up process entailed with that! Accurate radar and forecast is all we need! Since I like to go walking, I suppose y'all need my shoe size too!?

12.15.17 review: app was the best...but has continually crashed since December 2017. Uninstalled, reinstalled multiple times. Works initially again after reinstall but will then keep crashing for no apparent reason. 01.31.18 review: WU recommended to uninstall then reinstall the latest version. I did and it still crashes repeatedly. Giving zero stars until corrected.

This is a solid weather app in terms of accuracy and functionality. For Google Pixel 2, however, this app is unstable and continually crashes. This may not be the case for other devices though. Once it's fixed, this is easily a 5-star app. UPDATE: It still crashes even though I installed the app as instructed.

Not accurate weather prediction. It should be prediction of weather, not derivation of temp. parameters. It is totaly unrealible. If i want to know weather today i'll from window outside. I will test it a little more and uninstal. Memory waste

I've had this app for a long time now. Years. It's great. Pretty accurate. Hourly forecast, wind speed predictions a week in advance, accumulation prediction for rain and snow, summary, daily, or hourly option. Everything is easily accessible and understandable. It tells you the temp, and what it actually feels like.

**edit 2/4/18** after singe correspondence with the dev team, I was able to successfully remove, restart my device, ave re-install the app. Zero crashes in 3 days since, as the widget works as well. Happy use again! Crashing multiple times per day! Downgraded my review to one star! Uninstalled and reinstalled and now it still crashes AND the widget doesn't work! I LOVE this app AND pay for it! Please fix it!
