Etheria is an Ethereal Hero Collection RPG . When a devastating global freeze threatens to extinguish human civilization, humanity transfers their consciousness into "Etheria," a virtual world, to preserve their legacy.

Within Etheria, humans coexist with beings known as the Animus, who wield mysterious Anima Powers. Their peaceful coexistence shatters when the "Genesis Virus" emerges, corrupting the Animus and driving them berserk, endangering humanity's survival. In response, the Hyperlinker Union forms to combat this threat.

Take on the role of a Hyperlinker and begin your adventure in Etheria.

[Strategic Combat & Limitless Team Compositions] Etheria evolves classic turn-based combat by incorporating diverse strategic mechanics and sandbox exploration, delivering a next-generation Team RPG experience! Create countless team combinations by synergizing Animus abilities, issue real-time combat commands, and freely control each Animus in battle. Unless you want to spend a lot of money, don't even bother with this game. When first released it was free to play friendly but for months now it has been getting continually worse. A constant addition of new units that completely change the dynamics of play and that are overpowered have been added making units that I put months of work into obsolete. You have to obtain and build the new animus in order to keep up but won't be able to without spending s great deal of money. No longer fun at all.

After going through the intro, it has basic jrpg elements, but the storytelling and the world building are too confusing. From what I've managed to surmise after comparing summaries online and in-game, humanity did indeed go extinct, but right before they did, they learned of some new magical mathematical language called etheria which allowed them to migrate into a new digital reality threaten by a virus. Basically, it failed to immerse me right away, and the gameplay feels very generic so far.

I usually wait a while of playing before rating, but it's hard to play atm. I like the art, theme, and mechanics, but sadly. 1. Opening cutscene keeps freezing, I missed most of the animation. Audio and subtitles are fine. they just get stuck on a photo. 2. The game crashes so often that I can't play for more than 2 min. It's also a bit laggy and occasionally will make a glitching sound whilst in combat. I'm still looking forward to playing, but I physically can't atm.
