About this app

SMCP-Syntax app is a complement to the international Standard Marine Communication Phrases regulation. It is as tool to practice English oral communication skills using a text-to-speech feature.

SMCP-Syntax evaluates your maritime english skills (oral comprehension, written production, reading comprehension, translation, vocabulary, and reading fluency). The app uses multiple English accents and different qualities of readings, and provides learning paths and assessments to evaluate your english skills.

Four languages are supported : English, Spanish, French, Italian. It covers the most important safety-related fields of verbal shore-to-ship, ship-to-ship and on-board communications. Its aim is to get round the problem of language barriers at sea and avoid misunderstandings.
