In the Edo period, the length of the day was defined by "Akemutsu" (dawn six) (the hour of the rabbit) and "Kuremutsu" (dusk six) (the hour of the rooster).
The basic unit was "ittoki" (one hour), which divided both day and night into six equal parts, and the length of each hour varied depending on the season, using a "variable time system."
This app automatically obtains the sunrise and sunset times of your current location using GPS and displays in real time what time of day corresponds to the current moment in the Edo period.
