About this app

A diagnosis usually comes with a list of what you cannot eat. It rarely comes with ideas for dinner.

Yes Plate starts from your restrictions and shows only the food that fits — with the reason attached, so you are never asked to trust it blindly.

HOW IT WORKS

Choose your conditions once. Every recipe declares what it contains: gluten, lactose, fat, salt, sugar, purines and a dozen other things. The app works out what that means for you.

Nothing is hand-labelled "good for diabetes". It is calculated — which is exactly why the app can explain itself. Each recipe tells you plainly why it suits you, or what to watch for and for which condition.

Dishes you should avoid are not hidden. They are shown dimmed, with the reason, because hiding information is worse than explaining the risk.

WHAT IS INSIDE

• 178 recipes with photos, ingredients and steps
• 14 conditions: ulcer and gastritis, diabetes, coeliac disease, lactose intolerance, high blood pressure, kidney disease, pancreas and gallbladder, constipation, IBS, iron-deficiency anaemia, gout, high cholesterol, vegetarian, vegan
• Nutrition for every recipe, calculated from the ingredients rather than typed in by hand
• A food diary: note what you cooked and what you ate, and the day adds itself up — calories, protein and fluids
• Barcode scanning: point at the packet and the nutrition fills itself in
• A dish from a photo: snap the plate and get a rough estimate of the energy and protein in it, as a draft you correct — because a photo does not show weight
• A week ahead, and a shopping list gathered from everything you planned
• Your own dishes, for the food the catalogue does not have
• Several profiles, and a view of what suits everyone at once
• A report for your doctor
• Body-composition goals — lose weight, gain mass, cutting — kept separate from your conditions, because safe and useful are different questions
• Daily targets you can set yourself: with kidney disease the protein figure comes from your doctor, and no formula replaces it
• English, Ukrainian, Polish, German, Spanish and French

YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU

No account, no server, no tracking. Everything you enter lives on your phone. Your phone's own backup may keep a copy in your Google account — the privacy policy says exactly what that means and how to turn it off.

Seventy-one recipes are open without a subscription — chosen so that every condition has a full day (breakfast, soup, main, snack, dessert and side), with hearty meat and fish dishes among them. The rest of the catalogue, planning a week, scanning barcodes, estimating a dish from a photo, several profiles and the doctor's report are part of the subscription. Locked dishes are not hidden: you see them in the catalogue and in the day set, with the reason they suit you. The safety checks and the diary stay free.

The app works without a connection. Two things need one: looking a barcode up, and estimating a dish from a photo. Everything else — the recipes, the checks, the diary, the targets — does not.

NOT MEDICAL ADVICE

Yes Plate offers general ideas, not a treatment plan. Your restrictions are set by your doctor, and the nutrition figures are estimates. Where the app and your doctor disagree, follow your doctor.

What’s new

Estimating a dish from a photo now takes pictures from your gallery too — photograph lunch, count it in the evening.
The ingredients the app recognises are editable: add foods, remove extras, type the weights. Calories and macros update at once.
Two new conditions: gout and high cholesterol.
Every recipe explains why it suits you.
Filters can now show free or subscription dishes.
