About this app

Easy Pedometer is a gentle step counter that anyone, including people in their 70s and older, can use without getting lost. It also has a watch-over alert, so family members who live far away can feel reassured that you are up and walking today.

[Watch-over alert (automatic SMS to your family)]
If your step count is still zero at 3 p.m., the app automatically sends an SMS to a family member's phone number that you registered in advance. It is a safety feature to help family who live apart notice early if you have fallen and cannot move, or are unwell and staying in bed.
- How to set it up: the red "Watch-over alert settings" button on the main screen → enter your family member's phone number → turn on "Enable watch-over alert" → Save
- With the "Send a test" button you can send a test SMS to the registered number right away and check that it arrives
- This feature uses the device's "Send SMS" permission. Before asking for it, the app explains who it sends to, when, and what it says
- It only ever sends to the registered number, and at most one message a day. The phone number is stored only on your device and is not used for anything else
- It works only if you or your family turn it on (it is off at first)
* SMS charges may apply depending on your mobile plan

[No buttons to press]
Just install it and do a little setup, and it keeps recording your steps automatically. You do not even need to open the app.

[Big-text widget]
Put a big-text widget on your home screen that shows today's steps and calories burned at a glance. The text adjusts automatically to the size of the widget.

[Daily cheer messages]
3,000 steps, 5,000, 8,000, 10,000, 15,000... you get an encouraging notification as you walk.

[Fun titles and a journey map]
Earn a new "title" every 100,000 steps. From Tokyo to Odawara, Nikko, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Hakata and on to Kagoshima... it feels like travelling the length of Japan on foot. The journey map shows where you are now and your next destination at a glance.

[Step savings]
Steps above 5,000 a day are saved, and on days you cannot walk they are topped up from your savings. Even with rainy days or days you do not feel well, you can keep going without getting discouraged.

[Read aloud]
One button reads today's step count aloud.

[Compare with others]
Compare your average daily steps with the national average for your age group (Japan's National Health and Nutrition Survey).

[Send to my family]
Send today's step count to your family by LINE, email and more.

We help make your daily walk more fun, easier to keep up, and more reassuring.
