IMPORTANT: ZoiPer softphone is a standalone client-side software VOIP phone application and is not bundled together with a voip service. To make and receive voip calls using ZoiPer, you must subscribe to any SIP or IAX based service provider across the globe.

- Phones that are unstable because they have broken audio implementations:
Alcatel one touch series (poor audio drivers cause system freezes and crashes)
HTC one m8 (causes freezes.)

WARNING: Please use only versions from the appstore, we have reasons to believe some of the (russian) .apk files floating on the web contain a trojan that might steal username and password and make fraudulent calls. The official ZoiPer from google play is safe to use.

Ratings and reviews

The app works fine and does what they it does. The problem is that it also does something they don't say it does without digging a bit. By default, the "push" service will copy your username and password and register to your VoIP provider from Zoiper servers and proxy all of your SIP traffic. This is VERY shady as it allows them to not only log every detail about your calls and your location but it also lets them make/receive your calls without your interaction or notice.

Needs a "persistent registration" setting. A box you can check that tells zoiper to never stop trying to register no matter what error it encounters. A SIP fob/ATA or sip client should never just "ooooops. There has been an error" and give up trying to register the way zoiper does. Especially if the error is a network error. That's just silly. Update-They changed something, probably in their push server and it's staying online and registered now. About time!

Works as expected. Good softphone. Update - I have used this app for the past 5 years. It works reliably. I have the pro version so I can have multiple phone numbers connected through it. It is my connection to my personal and business phone numbers. I like that all my VPN numbers send and receive text messages. When I am traveling, I connect through the hotspot on my cell phone and make and receive calls consistently. Recommend Zoiper.
