About this app

The "AOK Ident" app is used to create and manage your HealthID. Your HealthID is your personal digital access to the healthcare system. The AOK HealthID allows you to use health applications from your AOK and other providers, such as the electronic patient record (ePA) and the electronic prescription.

#Registration
Registration is the first step to obtaining your HealthID. Separate login credentials are not required. To register, you need your insurance number, a smartphone, and you must verify your identity, for example, with your ID card. The typical steps within the "AOK Ident" app are:

1. Enter and confirm your email address,

2. Set your six-digit HealthID code,

3. Configure biometric data usage,

and
4. Confirm your identity.

If you want to use a health application, you must also agree that your HealthID data may be transmitted to the health application.

#Login
Protecting your health data requires high security standards. Therefore, several factors are used: the Health ID code and the registered device with the app. You can use biometrics (fingerprint or facial recognition) if your smartphone supports it and the app deems the function secure. The app checks this automatically. First, set up biometrics in your smartphone's settings and then agree to its use in the app. The login methods available depend on the specific health application.

#Profile Management
You can manage your Health ID directly in the "AOK Ident" app. Among other things, you can manage consents, adjust biometric settings, control push notifications, change the Health ID code, and manage devices.

Are you a business partner (service provider & employer)?

The "AOK Ident" app is the foundation for secure login. It is the second security factor for secure and convenient login to our portals. Setting up the second factor starts either during the registration process or in the overview of "My Identification Management for Business Partners."

In addition, the "AOK Ident" app can be used as a secure method for personal identification. Identification is required to register an organization.
