Frequently asked questions

Question: How can I log into a different FRITZ!Box?

The MyFRITZ!App supports operation of one particular FRITZ!Box. If you would like to switch FRITZ!Boxes, select "Log in again" in the settings. For login with the FRITZ!Box you must be connected with the Wi-Fi network of your FRITZ!Box.

Question: How can I access my home network when I am away from home?

If you enable the home network connection in the settings of the MyFRITZ!App, it is simple to establish a secure VPN connection to your home network with the switch at the top rights of the "Home Network" page. Through the protected, private VPN connection you can access and control the devices and data in your home network with the MyFRITZ!App.

Question: Why can't I access my FRITZ!Box when I am away from home?

Make sure that you enabled "Enable use from on the go" in the settings.
If you are using an Android device with the EMUI 4 Android interface, open "Settings / Advanced Settings / Battery Manager / Protected Apps". Enable the setting there for the MyFRITZ!App.
Some internet service providers (including many cable providers) provide connections that do not allow you to access the home connection from the internet or certain restrictions apply because no public IPv4 address is provided. The MyFRITZ!App normally recognizes that type of connection automatically and displays a corresponding message. These types of connections are called "DS Lite", "Dual Stack Lite" and "Carrier Grade NAT (CGN)". You can ask your provider whether you can receive a public IPv4 address.

Question: How long do messages remain available in the MyFRITZ!App?

The app keeps the last 400 messages of any type available for you, so that you can access older messages as needed using the search function. Older messages are deleted automatically.

Question: If I have suggestions for improving the app or discover an error, how can I tell AVM?

We always welcome feedback! Send us a short description via the navigation bar and "Give Feedback". A log is automatically attached to your message to help us analyze errors.

The app on my new phone won't find my Fritzbox (7590, 8.03) no matter what and I've tried in many ways. The FritzFon app has found it instantly. Please don't tell me that I have to delete all app data on the FB and start from scratch. I have 2 other phones already set up with MyFritz and FritzFon. You should make the setup of this app work like the FritzFon app. EDIT thanks for your reply. Reinstalled, no change. Can't send logs as app won't do it if not registered to FB. I'll wait for an update

We regret that setting up the MyFRITZ! app is proving problematic on one of your mobile phones and have noted down your feedback on FRITZ!Box detection for future update considerations. If reinstalling the app does not help, you can contact us: https://fritz.com/service/fritzapps/supportanfrage/ by mentioning: "#appfid 6858067

Today the app crashes at startup in a remote setup, connected to another WiFi with a FRITZ!Box. No chance to get logs! It crashes. Un/install is not an option due to remote. - Crash in home network as well. Your crash handler does not survive the app crash. I had to reinstall the app once I got home 👎

Hello, it's a pity that the app crashed directly on startup, is the issue resolved after reinstallation?

The app is pretty much useless, since you have to access the browser for almost everything. Why not put the Infos and configs directly in app? If I wanted to access it via browser, I would go straight to the browser. We have apps exactly to not have to access the browser for everything. Completely disappointing.

Hey, with the MyFRITZ! app, you can access your FRITZ!Box easily and securely at home and on the move. Depending on the FRITZ!Box model used, the app notifies you of calls, voice messages and other events and enables various options. However, we would be happy to note your request as a suggestion for improvement.
