About this app

The offer and the design of the app are aimed primarily - but not exclusively - at senior citizens. For us, health is not just about being free from illness or ailments. Health also describes the state of complete physical, emotional and social well-being. We are thus following the definition of the World Health Organization.

Bibliography:
Under the item “Weblinks” you can choose between different categories or start a self-formulated search query and thus automatically search all sources. So we want to offer a trustworthy alternative to "Doctor Google".

Members area:
If you have participated in the training courses of the BiGeTA project, you can enter the area with the help of your individual password or QR code. Here you can exchange text messages with other participants, ask questions, arrange meetings or ask for help.

QR code scanner:
We have also integrated an ad-free and easy-to-use QR code scanner.

In the future we plan:

Videos:
These deal with, among other things, healthy recipes, short breaks in everyday life, tips on doctor-patient discussions and much more.

Tip of the week:
Here we publish a weekly practical advice on health issues.

A quiz:
Here you can test and expand your health knowledge.

Extension of the members area:
We are planning to open the members' area to all users of the app.

How did the app come about?
The BiGeTA app (education, health and technical competence in old age) was created in the research project of the same name, which is funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt and the European Union and is located at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. One goal of the project was to create this app. For this reason the app is free of charge and without advertising!

Have fun downloading it and stay safe!
