Strengthen your cognitive abilities with MS Cognition! Playfully train cognitive skills that are relevant for coping with everyday life and are particularly often impaired in people with MS: attention, memory, and executive functions.
The MS Cognition exercises were developed in collaboration with experts and offer specific, scientifically based exercises in the following areas:
- Attention: Focused (serving drinks), divided (fishing), and selective attention (Is everything under control?), reaction time (lightning-fast reaction)
- Memory: Working memory (second to last), long-term memory (sequence memory, distraction), name recall (Who did it?)
- Executive functions: Word finding (word search), planning (work schedule), reasoning (Does it all make sense?), motor coordination (feeding sparrows)
The exercises generally have several difficulty levels that can be progressed through.
After each exercise round, you immediately receive an evaluation with your current result and your progress so far. In addition, your best scores are collected in a statistics overview that you can share with friends.
The app is not only suitable for people with MS, but for anyone who wants to playfully train and improve general, everyday cognitive skills.
MS Cognition was developed by the independent patient organization AMSEL (Action for People with Multiple Sclerosis), the state association of the German MS Society (DMSG) in Baden-Württemberg, and the German MS Society (DMSG), with support from Techniker Krankenkasse (a German health insurance company).
Professional guidance was provided by Heike Meißner, M.Sc. Psychology, Head of Psychology, and Prof. Dr. Peter Flachenecker, MD, Chief Physician, both at the Quellenhof Neurological Rehabilitation Center in Bad Wildbad.
