About this app

LWL-Museum Ziegelei Lage

Brand new: From Babylon to the Moon
From spring 2026, a modern permanent exhibition, new paths across the grounds and the new museum app will make a visit to the LWL Museum Ziegelei Lage a real experience.
The permanent exhibition in the museum's main building focuses on six buildings from different periods in which bricks played an important role. What makes it special is that each building has its own digital or analogue-digital game. Another part of the exhibition is dedicated to current future trends and will be updated every two years with a new focus and different questions.
Clearly presented themed islands on the grounds of the former Beermann brickworks complement the exhibition in the main building. They offer an overview of everything from the raw material clay to the firing of bricks. Other exhibition rooms showcase the history of the Lippe migrant brickmakers and the family history of the brickworks founder Beermann.

Museum app:
Discover, learn, participate.
The app offers content in German, English and German sign language and enables a barrier-free visitor experience. It is a digital companion throughout the museum.
With the app, you can explore the exhibition content independently, select your language track and simply scan the QR codes in the exhibition. This allows you to discover the diversity of brick as a building material, see historical machines in operation and become part of the “Mitmachstadt” a digital game in which you can build your own house

Features:
- In-depth content on selected topics
- Videos of historical machines in operation
- Content in German, English and German sign language
- Information about the museum and your visit
- Highlight - “Mitmachstadt”: Create your own house in the app and place it in the interactive city. Play the games in the exhibition and unlock new building components for your house in the app.
